Nice hotel but not the most convenient layout.

We stayed in room 239 after being moved from 235. The lift was broken when we arrived. Not that it would make that much difference. It seems the standard rooms are all located in a separate building out the back of the beautiful part of the hotel. But despite our room being 239. It wasn't on the 2nd floor. We can to go up the stairs to the 1st floor, walk the length of the hotel, then down another very cold walk way, then climb another 4 flights of stairs in an outdated building, then walk the length of the building again to reach our room. The only difference a working lift would have made to that journey was that instead of walking up the first flight of stairs you could have got a lift to the 1st floor. There is no lift access to the part of the hotel we were in. We were told that they gave us an upgrade to a king room with a great view and unless someone really liked brick walls as a view there was nothing great about it. That was from room 235. So we walked the long journey back to reception and actually had to show the receptionist a photo of the view from our room to prove there was no view. Then got movery further a long the hehe corridor to 239 which was beyond the brick wall and actually had some view. Attached is a pic from room 235. Someone really needs to think about the logistics of this hotel. Or even have staff to carry your bags up the 6 flights of stairs and cold walk ways that you have to face to get to the standard rooms.
