Simply stunningPosted Oct 6, 2015
The hotel itself and the staff were exceptional! We were greeted by a fabulous staff member who was friendly an informative. After a great dinner in the dining room, we had a drink in the pub before heading out. We were not finished with our evening upon our return and the concierge ensured we had blankets and a beautiful glass of wine to sit outside infant of the weeping ash before turning in for the night. The grounds are extraordinary and all the little touches and effort the hotel made it very special for all of us. The breakfast by the way is not to be missed!

Traditional comfort and style in a garden settingPosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Traditional comfort and stylish eating.
Location: Do visit the historic cathedral and the English market where you can sample freshly shucked oysters.
Although it is difficult to find (the sat nav was essential) it was worth the effort. After driving through the tree lined entry, we were offered a drink while checking in in the beautiful timber panelled reception area of an old family home. Our room looked over the heavily treed garden and offered a wonderfully comfortable king bed and two huge chairs in which to relax. The breakfast was brilliant with a room devoted to the huge buffet plus gourmet offerings from the kitchen. Both the bistro and the restaurant offered interesting and delicious dishes and the staff, including the wine waiter, were knowledgable and made good recommendations. The place has lovely feel with a library and leather chaired lounges. Guest comfort was the staff focus and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel....butPosted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: The service, the staff and the food were all very good
Cons: The location is not good, you have to drive to get to anything. Even a coffee
Location: Nothing to do, an ugly neighbourhood, but the grounds and facilities are very nice.
This is a lovely upmarket boutique hotel with men in top hats and tails to welcome you and very friendly, warm Irish hospitality. Unfortunately they couldn't figure out that my dinner reservation for 7 meant 7, not 7:30. We waited in the bar, and they were very apologetic about the problem. Other than that, our stay was very nice.

Beautiful manor hotel!Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Very comfortable, gorgeous views from our room.
This hotel is a gorgeous building with traditional characteristics. There is a photo album where you can see the original manor home before the renovations into a hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
