Mix up with booking - disappointing
Posted Aug 26, 2016 on Hotels
We booked a family suite for one night in the hotel for €185 (apparently it was to be a 2 bed suite as per Hotels.com)The hotel rang a day before to confirm the booking, and I was told we were booked in for an apartment.I dd not book an apartment, but the hotel insisted we did, even though my confirmation email from Hotels.Com stated otherwise. When I checked the Quality Hotel website, I found the apartments were €20 less than what we had been quoted by Hotels.com, and the hotel rooms cheaper again. After a few phone calls, the hotel agreed to provide the apartment for €165. Having to 'haggle' prices a day before going on holiday was not something I anticipated, and put a bit of a downer on it all.
On the upside, the hotel staff were lovely. The apartment was Okay, still a bit steep for one nights stay though, and it meant we had to bring our own milk, bread etc for breakfast (breakfast not included in the price). Being close to the beach was a plus, and we were lucky to have had really nice weather. If I were to do it again, I would book directly through the hotel and not through a third party.
