It was quiet. Breakfast was very good. Their were several restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking. Shower was very good and powerful. I liked that they only cleaned your room if you asked so everything was as you left it. The bedside table needs to be bigger when you have two beds sharing one. There is a very good mirror in the bathroom but no shelf for your makeup. The mirror over the desk and the lamp was not a good alternative.

Overnight business stay
Lovely friendly welcome, the receptionist even found the nearest EV fast charging point for me (sorry I didn’t get her name) Room was small but had everything you needed and was exceptionally clean with plenty of tea/coffee/milk. Food was very good, the steak was cooked perfectly, a little disappointing that the chips were frozen and not freshly made, but it is out of season so can be forgiven as they were very tasty 😊 Breakfast was good, not much choice on the continental but the cooked offerings were good, I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and it was delicious 😋

Friendly staff
We were greeted by a very lovely lady Jane, who was extremely friendly and very helpful. I had reserved the electric vehicle charger, and it worked well. Jane also helped us with directions to our next destination. The continental breakfast was good and the staff were all very friendly and professional.

Clean airy room but all a bit convoluted using the restaurant with a pay-as-you-go drink facility and no option of putting the meal on the main bill. All came across as untrusting and a bit rude…

We stayed the night as we attended a function in the hotel and didn’t want to drive home afterwards, The food was excellent, at dinner and at breakfast the following morning. We had a lovely room, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Only complaint, the bar closed at 11.00 pm, even to residents, so the party fizzled out! In hindsight our organiser should have secured a later bar.

Exceeded all expectations
To be fair I have heard lots of bad press on the hotel group and my expectations were very low. I read lots of 10 scores and thought it may be made up; however, I was really amazed by this hotel. It deserves its 10s. Friendly staff, clean, great facilities, and I would stay again definitely.

Excellent stay
Lovely stay, staff friendly and helpful, particularly Lisa who, alongside brilliant service in the restaurant, was giving good local knowledge advice on places to go and things to do. Everything was cleaneddown thoroughly in the restaurant between sittings. Room was good and clean. No room service unless specifically requested, but mugs/towels etc were readily replaced on request.

Lovely place
The place was nice, far too many stairs to get into the place and no way of parking and walking to car park of disabled. More suitable for able bodied people Restaurant only open for two hours a day was disappointing as when we arrived at 745 after a 7 hour drive it was all shut and the bar was closed at 945 so no way of getting drinks after then at all and no staff on site after 945pm. The staff were nice and the property was lovely too. Just wish more accessible. The room was lovely and bed was incredibly comfy ♥️ Would definitely recommend to others but will warn in advance that bar/restaurant times and also stairs in car parks. But other than that the place was adorable

I was glad to read that over all you were comfortable but would like to address some of your concerns.Being an old building we do not have the best accessibility but we do have a ramp at the front door for anyone who wants to avoid stairs. It is widely advertised on all of our websites that our restaurant closes at 8pm (last orders at 7.45), as well as all of our guests receiving 2 emails which also state this. I'm not really sure what more we could do to inform people.As for the bar, we are lucky to be situated within 5 minutes walk of 3 pubs which means that our bar is not heavily utilised and we usually do not serve anyone after 9.30pm.I'm not sure where you got the impression that there are no staff on site after 9.45pm as there is a staff member on site 24 hours a day and has to be for security and safety (emergencies only). This staff member can be reached by either calling the main hotel number or using the internal phone on the Reception desk.Kind RegardsJane

all great except the bathroom
lovely stay although the bathroom light sensor often went off too soon, especially when we were showering, and there was little ventilation so towels and swimming costumes didn't dry very quickly, even with the option of the heated towel rail. other than that, we had a lovely stay. the staff were friendly, the pool was glorious in the sunshine and the location was perfect

Bedroom and bathroom good quality, comfortable and very clean. Staff generally nice but accounting problem – having to pay separately for meals and drinks, and breakfast having to be paid for upfront before being allowed to sit down! Guests should be insulated from the hotel's weird accounting practices! This spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Great place to stay but under staffed at Breakfast. People were getting served before me that had arrived after I did. Only fault during my stay though. Would stay again but skip Breakfast if busy!
