Great location

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: The room, spacious, with the sea view. Bowling
Cons: kitchen facilities like the kettle and the fridge- rather old , the food in the fridge was frozen
Location: Great location for families and people who like to be away from the madding crowd
A nice, quiet hotel in perfect location, close to the beach and not far from the city centre. Friendly staff was happy to help with any queries, good food, great entertainments avaialble as well- pool table and bowling!

Great hotel

Nice comfortable hotel with great breakfast close to the beach. Bowling alley and local bar as well. Excellent basic hotel for a night or two. Friendly staff into the bargain, reasonably priced.

Walking distance to porth Beach

Posted Aug 30, 2016
A lovely apartment with sea view. (In distance) lovely comfortable beds and a spacious apartment. Nice and clean with soft towels, toiletries, teas, coffee, milk and biscuits provided. Only slight criticism. An iron provided but no ironing board and no hair dryer which I hadn't realised. But overall a lovely hotel, good facilities, lovely breakfast and the breakfast staff exceptionally nice, especially the young girl, very helpful and polite. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again.

Last minute booking

Last minute decision to go to Cornwall, so we were pleasantly surprised by Porth Lodge. Great location, comfortable with good breakfast and a good selection of bar meals .

Boardmasters work trip (with family)

Posted Aug 13, 2016
Pros: Lady owner pleasant and friendly; the breakfasts (and service); the old bar; free ten pin bowling for residents; dog friendly.
Cons: Toilet/bathroom could do with a refresh/refurb; noisey metal stairway if someone leaves early; small/thin barman needs to improve his customer skills
Expedia listed a great place near-ish to the Boardmasters site. This hotel was ideal for our family and dog; easy access to the beaches and Newquay.
