Hotel Needs QC Check for Room Cleanliness
Posted Oct 18, 2016
First review ever! We planned the weekend around a high school football game in Ingleside and wanted to explore the area. We checked into the hotel room around 3PM Friday 10/14/2016 , dropped off our bags, and headed to Port Aransas. Had a nice lunch on the island, went to the beach, visited some shops and headed to the game at 7:30PM. Get back to the hotel around 11PM and discover the remote control is missing the back and no batterries. Go to the front desk and the remote is replaced. Watch some TV and start to get ready to go to sleep for the evening. Pull the covers back and smell a strong urine odor. We get out of bed and pull the sheets back and discover the top sheet had been changed but the mattress pad underneath was not changed. Head to the front desk and the front desk states oh we had a disabled person in that room #138 and they had an peed the bed. So she calls her supervisor and they offer an upgrade which is a room with two queen beds. So I ask how is that an upgrade? So she offers us a larger room, she was polite, and met us in the new room so she could check it out. We had thought about not staying and just driving home but we were both tired and not ready to make the three hour drive home at midnight. I realize things happen but common sense tells most that if the sheet had urine so does the mattress pad.

Thanks so much for letting us know. Our staff at the front did upgrade you to a Suite and after knowing this information you where compensated with a free night stay. This was an isolated incident and we did speak with the Head of Housekeeping to go over with her staff the proper way to clean the bed under these circumstances to ensure this will not happen again.
