“So it took me about 20 minutes to get into the property because they don’t have staff in on a Sunday- the intercom doesn’t then allow entry into the building. After a long wait and conversation that basically made me feel like an inconvenience for staying there- eventually I get into the building and at this point I have a surprise pre-authorisation to do of £70 where I have to read my card details to a lady who clearly has random people in the room with her- not thrilled about that. “Lovely, interesting old building in a very good location. Given the age of the hotel there are the inevitable uneven floors and slightly steep stairs. The free parking at the rear of the hotel is a real bonus. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and pleasantly decorated. The breakfasts were consistently good but sadly the hotel does not provide evening meals. All the staff were cheerful and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.”
