Lovely staff, always helpful and friendly. They lent us a kettle for the room (no charge). Buffet was great, very varied and lots of great choices, constantly topped-up.

Nice hotel and staff but pay attention to Covid
The suite we stayed in was a great option for families and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. I was concerned at the lack of hand sanitisers by the lifts and the free for all at the buffet! There were gloves available in the restaurant but no enforcement of wearing them, so most people didn’t bother to put them on. The people were closely packed together over the food- they were of course wearing masks but I still felt this was a bit unsafe and needed managing better as the way in which the food was laid out meant that people were packed together in a confined space. It was a pity because the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and the hotel was nice with quite a large outside pool so the hotel had a lot to commend it. I just feel they need to pay a bit more attention to their Covid measures.

Wonderful hotel. Staff very friendly and can’t do enough. The suites were lovely and immaculate. Overall we had a fantastic time at this hotel. Lots of activity’s for kids and adults and the evening entertainment was very good.

Well worth it !
This was a return visit for us, and if anything the quality has improved again. The value for money cannot be overstated, and although some 4 star awards are dubious, this is not one of them. Although this coastline is better known for, loud, cheap and cheerful, Santa Susanna is definitely not in that mould. The area this hotel is in is very respectable and well worth a visit.

It was all really clean and everyone working there was friendly and helpful. The meals were great, as are the facilities. Location not too bad either, 5 mins walk to the beach and 10 to the train station.

Clean and good location
Good location, attentive staff and very clean. A very negative point is the noisy and narrow beds that make the nights very uncomfortable and difficult to have a good rest.

Great family holiday

Nice hotel but noisy
Couldn't fault anything of staff,hotel or cleanliness but was very noisy from nearby clubs and mixing rooms where groups of teenagers were making lots of noise in a family hotel .the placing of guests was poor .groups of noisy teenagers next to rooms with a family with children and adults wanting to sleep.

Great hotel with excellent staff
Lovely clean modern room with nice facilities, staff who go that extra mile to give you a great holiday experience. All the staff from reception to dining room to cleaning staff were wonderful. The food in the dining room was varied with lots of choices and plentiful. It was well presented in a super clean dining room with plenty of staff that looked after you. Would choose this hotel again. Thank you to all for making our stay memorable.

Great all inclusive experience
I stayed at this hotel with a group of friends for 4 nights. We had a regular suite which was very comfortable and suitable for our needs. The hotel is close to Santa Susanna train station and a few minutes walk from the beach. The local area has a few supermarkets and souvenir shops but unless you fancy a day trip or a swim in the sea there's very little reason to leave the hotel! The all inclusive deal is excellent for drinks, with only really champagne off the menu. The food was generally very good. As a vegetarian there were not often "mains" available except for pasta, but the salad bar was excellent and there was a good assortment of sides to ensure I never felt I was missing out. The staff were all wonderful and very accommodating and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Wifi had to be used downstairs and even if it was paid in the rooms, connection was poor. Clean and pretty rooms however walls are thin enough where you can hear everything in adjacent rooms

Ok hotel but not great service
The hotel is located near the beach, 5 minute walk. Very nice area with lots of shops, restaurants and action along the promenade, but no sea view. The rooms are ok, quite spacious, but the beds were very uncomfortable. The full board was nice, but the quality of the food varied. The first night they served foods that were not fresh or tasted a bit "off", however most of the other days the food was ok to good, but never great. Restaurant staff was quite good at ignoring customers, and often people had to get up and walk to a waiter to get service. The staff in general were not very friendly, and things were never properly explained to us. The hotel rules are not like most other hotels I visit on a weekly basis, so we were left in the dark about many things which felt very frustrating. The wifi was not very stable or fast and you had to re-log in every few minutes which is a huge pain. You have to pay to use the safe in the room, which felt like a rip-off.

Perfect for a family holiday
Fantastic staff and full board stay meant we didn't venture out much. Great for family stay, the area itself isn't the best however but we went for the pool mainly to escape the heat and get sone sea breeze!

not a 4 star hotel and quite unsafe
we have stayed in mid july in Aqua Hotel Montagut. Don't know where they get the 4 star superior rating from, it's very-very basic. We stayed in premium suite with pool view, the rooms are tiny, when you pull the sofa bed out, you have no space to move about at all and keep catching the metal frame constatly with your legs. the bedding had holes in in, the beds had metal frames like guest beds, and were very noisy. tv is so useless, I cannot say enough. the signal is very poor and there's only BBC world news in Enlish and no cartoons of any kind or any language. The hotel accepts dog owners and it is a nightmare, as they bark at night and the walls are paper thin.No kettle provided, no knives, forks or spoons, nothing to eat fruit with, leave alone anything else. The hair dryer was broken and fixed dangerously with some tape. The food is not catered for special diets, like vegetarian or vegan, the food was not labeled, so I didn't know if it was safe to eat. The entertainment stage is very small, but I must admit, there were various performers every night and they were quite good. The pool area is very dangerous, I saw a girl falling and cutting her chin on the pool edge,due to the tiles being very slippery with no bumps or studs or rubbery bits. kids entertainment is good, but I was terriefied my kids would slip and hurt themselves in the pool area, so we went to the beach every day. i would recommend the hotel to couples, rather than families, and don't expect too much

This hotel was NOT anything like the website. The staff was very rude, did not speak English and did not want to help us at all. We had no air conditioning and when we finally got offered to move, it was to three other rooms that had no working air conditioning. We could not drink the water and they wanted to charge us $3.00 per bottle of water. The food was not good at all and the overall service was awful. We have already told our travel agent NOT to recommend this hotel to her clients. This is our choice, not hers, and now we can see why. We had reservations for 2 nights but could not stay but one and cut our trip short because of it.

Great value for a nice hotel close to the beach
We stayed here one night on our way through the Santa Susanna area. We came in via train which was a bit of a walk. Despite that, we had a great stay. Really nice hotel! Room was very spacious, nice amenities, delicious lunch in the hotel dining room, friendly staff. Best of all, it was a really great value compared to some of the more expensive places we'd been. Would definitely stay here again if in the Santa Susanna area!

All round fantastic hotel
The rooms where very comfortable and clean. There was a wide selection of great quality fresh food. Drinks are well priced especially on local spirits. Plenty of sun beds around a clean & safe pool. Couple of maintainance issues with the children's see saw and mushroom fountain in the kids pool. But other than that this is a fantastic hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fantastic Hotel
We had a lovely holiday at Aqua Hotel Montegut which exceeded our expectations .The weather except for 1 day was warm and sunny. We hired a car and there was plenty to see and do and we visited Barcelona and Gerona as well as other beach resorts .We did not have to pay parking at the hotel as there was plenty of free parking available nearby. The hotel entertainment of an evening was varied and the was a Halloween theme on 31st October and staff dressed up and there was activities for the children .The flamenco show was also excellent. We will return again soon.

The bag with my medicament (I have diabetes) disappear from my room. Probably, cleaning woman just throw them out mistakenly. Management asked her about my medicament, she answered that didn't see them; as a result management said to me that believe this cleaning woman and don't believe me. Nobody said "sorry", there weren't attempts to help me to get new medicine or to compensate its cost (about $500).

Could not fault the room, was clean and well furnished. Only complaint was the staff in restaurant, sometimes we had to get up from dinner to ask someone to get us a drink. Hotel in a superb location only 5 minutes walk to beach, an hour to Barcelona on the train. Not on main road so no disturbance at night.

Don't recommend this hotel! Probably 2* not 4*!!
I was very disappointed as this was a 4* hotel but the rooms weren't. There was a room next to us who had a dog that barked very loudly all the time and when we complained to reception they told us they can't offer us another room as they were 'fully booked' which Im sure is a lie as there were empty rooms. The shower was freezing or extremely hot and they told us we can use another room to have a shower (for a few hours) and then give back the keys. I don't understand what we paid our money for - the simplest thing that you should get is a shower and we had to go up and down 3 floors within certain times just to get one!! How unprofessional! Plus when we took a shower we found hairs - disgusting. Few of the staff are friendly which made our stay better but definitely don't think it deserves to be 4*!!

Steer clear of this hotel and of Santa Susanna
This is not a luxury hotel by any standard. I would give it 3 stars tops. We paid for a premium room with separate bedroom and guaranteed view of the pool, and they gave us a small room, no separate bedroom, with a view of a parking lot. I complained and the woman at check in said that she gave us a premium room so I threatened to call Expedia and complain and ask for my money back, so she finally gave us the room we paid for. Even that room was, while an improvement, a big disappointment. The "amenities" were a joke, the smallest bar of soap I have ever seen, and only one at that, and the bare minimum of other amenities. One small package of tissues, with about 4 tissues in it, no sewing kit, no shaving kit, no toothbrush, no conditioner, no slippers, I could go on and on. If a hotel bills itself as luxury, they should supply basic amenities and more. The hotel and the town seem to cater to vacationers from Britain and other parts of Europe who basically want to sun themselves, eat and drink. Very commercialized with bad restaurants and cheap souvenir stores. Not a place I could recommend and I'm still asking myself why on earth I chose to spend 3 nights there. We should have spent all 10 nights in Barcelona, and so should you.

A Great Hotel absolutely no complaints
On arrival at the hotel the entry hall is spotless and the staff very friendly and spoke very good english and french. The room, a junior suite, was superb with a comfortable bed, and splendid bathroom. We were on half board and the buffet, which normally I do not like, had a veritable plethora of choice and a quality of the highest level, the house wine, red, was also very good. Breakfast, once again a buffet, proposed everything from full english, croissants etc. through to the delightful sparkling Cava wine, great fo a bucks fizz! Try and see Simon Grant a singer in the local Hotels, a good evenings entertainment.
