This is our fourth visit, 2 pre-covid and 2 post covid. All in all this is a very nice hotel still, but not quite as good as it used to be in some respects. Reception and client services staff are still very good indeed and couldn't be more helpful. All are good, Ivan and Sonia outstanding. The pool area is still very pleasant, the rooms are clean and spacious and the balconies large and relaxing.
Some things have slipped a bit though. For example, the individual bottles of toiletries in the bathrooms have been replaced by large refillable bottles in the name of eco awareness. Fair enough in principle, but he replacements are far inferior - do the management really believe that returning customers don't notice these things? Also the toilet paper is of such a poor standard that you literally wouldn't be able to buy such poor quality in the UK (Tesco value is on a higher level altogether). The carpets leading to the bedrooms have become a bit worn and stained. The number of items at breakfast has been reduced. And the food generally and bar service just has a feel of complacency about it - for example I suggested adding strawberries, baked beans and some sort of cooked sausage to the breakfast choices - the manager listened attentively and said all the right things, and then did absolutely nothing. It just feels that maximising profit is now ahead of customer experience. Finally, as others have said, introducing a charge for the indoor pool is just plain counter productive.
