Avoid.

Cyclists on tour should AVOID. We stayed in 9 hotels during our tour across Andalucia; nearly all small and locally owned. 8 out of 9 hotels were happy for us to keep our lightweight road bikes in our room, or to store them in a baggage room or garage. Upon our arrival at Hotel Miraya, the desk clerk informed us that we could not bring our bikes into the hotel at all, and also that we could not cancel our reservation without eating the entire cost of the room. He claimed it was because the rooms were "too small" to accommodate our bikes, but actually this was one of the largest rooms we stayed in, with ample room. His attitude was surprisingly haughty and rigid, and he made little attempt to be helpful. This put us in a very difficult position, as we were in a town where we knew nobody but had to scramble to find a secure place to keep our bikes for the night. Fortunately, others in Torre del Mar were kinder than Hotel Miraya and we found someone who stored them overnight for free, but this was just luck. If you are traveling by bike, spare yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere. Even if you are not, I would not recommend this hotel - overall its attitude seems to be to protect itself from its guests rather than to protect or accommodate them (e.g., the keying system for the room doors is a bit of a firetrap and could leave you groping in the dark for a key to let yourself out in case of emergency).

nice beach stay.

Had a lovely stay in the Hotel Miraya. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice location with off street (free)parking. Nice and clean hotel with all the things you need. Good location in town and beach is just steps away and Calle Larios and Calle del mar are 2 blocks away.

Good short stay in wonderful Torre Del Mar.

Short stay to be near the good beach and numerous restaurants & bars without a car. Lovely atmosphere in Torre Del Mar. Families out walking along the promenade in evening and walkers & joggers using the track on the beach. Found our room a bit noisy as on front of hotel & close to pavement but other rooms might have been quieter.

We loved our three day break here. The hotel was immaculate and all the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the area ! Great restaurants in the vicinity. We will certainly be back ! :)

Good hotel right on the beach front

Pros: English speaking friendly staff. Clean & Tidy. Good choice of breakfasts cooked at your request, not off a heated rack.
Location: The Hotel is right on the beach front. The hotel is in a Spanish peoples holiday resort, and has very good restaurants all along the front.
For a low star hotel we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms and the service given. We used this hotel in January while travelling the south of Spain house hunting, and had previously stayed at a 4 star Golf Club Hotel. OK the rooms were much bigger at the Golf Club but we had no heating the first night and no hot water the next, and the staff were not interested. At the Miraya they couldn't do enough for you. There was a road at the front but only had light traffic, and I would know because being a light sleeper was not disturbed at all. I have already recommended the Miraya to my friends.

A clean & tidy budget Hotel, with extra features.

Pros: Seafront location and friendly nature of Staff.
Cons: Hot water took a while to come through, but when it did, it was fine.
Location: Numerous Bars, Restaurants, fast-food outlets within easy staggering distance, even in Winter.
I spent a couple of days at Hotel Miraya, whilst carrying out some research. The location on the beachfront gives the front rooms wonderful sea views. With free Wi-Fi, Air Conditioning / Calefaccion, flat-screen TV, Room Safe, Telephone and Fridge you might expect to pay a high price, but at less than £30 a day for Bed & (Continental) Breakfast, I doubt that there could be better value. OK, so I had a single room at the back of the Hotel, but with the Mediterranean at the front door, who would want to be in their room longer than necessary ?? The Staff were welcoming and friendly, despite the lack of a common language between us. They didn't even mock my atrocious attempts at speaking Spanish !! Breakfast was basic, no full English here, but enough to keep me going until lunch. Overall, my stay was a very pleasant one.

Third stay, still as good

Pros: Proximity to beach/bars/restaurants. Cleanliness and comfort of rooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Value for money.
Cons: I can't think of anything that could improve the hotel.
Location: There is a sandy beach just a few steps away and numerous excellent bars and restaurants in close proximity.
We normally have only a one or two night stay here to break up our journey home but have enjoyed the place so much we decided to make a short holiday of it this time. We still rate the hotel highly - spotlessly clean, excellent shower, good toiletries, security safe in room, just a few steps from the sandy beach and numerous bars/restaurants. A car is not a necessity but we did hire one, there is free parking directly outside the hotel. Malaga airport is only a 30 minute drive and taxis are plentiful, there is also a public bus service from the airport to Torre del Mar. We will definitely return and meanwhile will recommend to all.

Rubish hotel

I stayed in this hotel one night . The aircondition didnt work and the receptionist who didnt speak English at all couldnt fix it. I couldnt sleep till 7 am morning as my room was colkd . In the morning when English speaker stuff came ,blamed me for the situation of aircondition and told I have played with remote control more than usual. He didnt accept that my booking was included breakfast and he was so rude to me. I dont know why this rubish hotel has advantage of showing its sign in many parts of the town next to the streets sign.

Dear customer, our night staff did not speak English, but if you tried to solve you the problem of air conditioning, but if you return to touch the controls again does not work. The air conditioning is new and works perfectly. If you was bringing breakfast included and will be served each day on time. Thanks for your feedback and continue to improve as much as possible.
