Simple room that was quiet & clean . Front of house staff were polite & helpful . Perfectly situated for an easy stroll into central Beaune. Safe street parking outside ( chargeable up to 7pm free on Sundays)

One night stay in beautiful Beaune
We booked one night in Beaune as an overnight stop on a long journey. Beaune was recommended as a beautiful little town and it truly was one of the loveliest little medieval towns that we have visited. Great selection of restaurants and the one next to the hotel was amazing. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. We phoned in the morning to say we were unlikely to arrive before the reception shut at 9pm and they noted this and tried calling us to check about our arrival in the evening. The hotel is in a wonderful position inside the old town, close to the main squares and attractions. Buffet breakfast was also very good, full continental plus eggs, sausage and bacon. The room was lovely though a little small.

Disappointing
Disappointed by this hotel. Booked and paid for a "comfort" room but room (209) did not resemble the illustrations. It was only just big enough for the bed and furnishing identical to "classic" photos. Curtains were not properly finished - surplus length was held up with safety pins). 2 small pillows plus a useless small cushion for each person on the bed. Bathroom extremely small and shower floor had no rim so the rest of the bathroom flooded almost immediately with standing water puddle all night. "Trendy" black painted walls combined with lights that turn themselves off meant that corridor to the room was almost pitch dark until a switch could be found. The hotel is well located, breakfast was OK and the few staff we encountered polite, but we won't be back.

Fantastic hotel great location & full of character
Lovely hotel right in the middle of the town. Old building which has been sympathetically restored to a good standard but still leaving original features such as oak beams. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast had a good range including cooked options. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nicely renovated hotel. It now has an elevator. Nice exposed beams in room's ceiling. Free parking is available at end of block in a public parking facility. It was full, I had to pay €5 at meter for overnight parking on street. Location is great... walk to everything in Beaune. Clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. Good rates. I am satisfied.

Superb location. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good. Only two minor issues; the soundproofing between the rooms was not good and an external disco takes place close to the hotel on Saturday night.

Location, location...
It looks like there has been some refurbishment since my last stay, which is great. Breakfast could be better, but this is a great place for a convenient and comfortable overnight stay right in the centre of this fabulous town, and I'll be back next time I'm passing.

The hotel is in a great location. The room was small but fine. Nice bedding. The bathroom smells strongly of water damage. They should check the floor in there. It looks recently updated so I think they tiled over a damaged subfloor. My biggest issue tho was the front desk staff. With the exception of the woman who helped us with checkout Sunday morning they were all pretty cold and borderline rude. No eye contact. Never greeted you even tho they sit by the door. We had two rooms reserved and when I checked in they said we had one room. The guy basically fought me on this point and would not look at my phone or at me. Told me I was being surly. He finally checked the Expedia site abs discovered they had made a mistake. No apology or acknowledgement. Housekeeping and breakfast room staff were lovely.

Athanor experience
I felt I was the only guest. Just me and the receptionist. Bar shut because of Covid. Perfectly friendly, helpful and efficient. Come back after 10 pm and let yourself in via keypad. Very central. Parking two hundred yards away in free public car park. Had the impression parking was on site but I got lucky with a choice of two spaces left at around 5.30 pm arrival.

Unfortunately the parking was at least 150 metres away - stated on site as "just round corner' - not helpful for someone with walkig disability. Room was quirky, clean and bed very comfortable but being in attic, the sloping roof made it very difficult getting in and out of bed. Breakfast - very good choice. No one at reception when booking out. Excellent position in toen.

Upon check in the receptionist insisted that we pay when we have already prepaid. We have stayed the night before without using hotel.com site and paid for 99€ for a room. When we booked this time using hotel.com there’s a secret price £99 reduced to £89 for the same sized room that we had the night before so I booked it. The receptionist insisted that we haven’t prepaid because the room she gave us was €77 and obviously we were prepaid £93 with tax. I’m not sure who’s fault it is, hotel.com or the hotel and for not giving us the right room. The hotel is in a great location and they have very comfortable bed and premium beddings.

stay away from this property .
As no one in the hotel cared a single thing about guests I will not waste my time explain why . I just add this advice . Do not stay there find another hotel and you stand a chance of being well and happy .

2. Time we stayed at Anthanor and we got so dissapointed this time. The room and bathroom was dirty, the floor was water damaged , still not dry outside the bathromm. Lampshape missing ect. ect. Sorry Anthanor your staff are very friendly, but we will not visit your hotel again. 😕

This hotel is in scruffy condition and our room needed several small repairs. It was not good value for the price. As well, the quoted room rate, seemed to include breakfast, but then a steep "property fee" was tacked on which was $35 per night tax. It was noted in the fine print, but the room rate with breakfast was already higher than the room without breakfast, so why would they add even more?

Beautiful older property situated right in the heart of Beaune. The entire village is easily walkable. Staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke English. Don’t miss their buffet breakfast in the charming and elegantly appointed dining room. Broad array of quality items to choose from. One of the best values of our entire trip. I highly recommend the Hotel Athanor.

Superb location in the heart of ancient Beaune town centre. Hotel was under renovations. New areas appear modern. Old areas are comfortable however very outdated. Good value for money.
