Loved, loved, loved it! Perfectly positioned in Dijon within easy walking distance of so many historical sites, places to shop, and lovely restaurants! Parking was pretty easy (may be harder at peak travel times) and the gentlemen at the front desk was very friendly and very helpful. This place is super cool! The hotel is in a historic building and when you walk out of reception you step into a courtyard where you feel transported right back to medieval times. A small fountain to the left, buildings rising up around you at crazy angles and differing heights, and a crazy variety of roof heights and chimneys make you think maybe you stepped into Diagon Alley. The stairs up to our room were crazy and perhaps not for the faint of heart but I loved it. When we got into our room my son (who loves medieval history) said he was “geeking out” because the room was so cool. Crazy angles, solid wooden beams, and skylight windows providing a view of rooftops and a church spire were awesome. Beds were comfy, radiators by every bed, a nice shower, and solid blinds on the window made for a great stay. If this wasn’t enough the location allows for easy walking access to so many historical sites. Do yourself a favour and take the Owl Walking your. You’ll see so much in just over an hour it’s amazing! Also make sure you go to Acqua E Farina pizzaria a short walking distance away. Amazing food, lovely staff, 3 euros for a glass of wine, and Mole Cola! Loved this stay!

Nice, simple hotel in an excellent location
Excellent location, within 3-20 minutes' walk of all the beautiful and interesting sights in the whole of the old centre of the city. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast (costing 10 euros extra) was simple but plentiful (tasty croissants and pains au chocolat, cereal, fruit, ham, etc). The staff were very helpful and let us keep cheese we'd bought in their fridge. The price was very good. No frills, but none are needed!

Nice, good sized room. Quiet facing small courtyard. Kind clerks. Shower did not work well. Needs repair (room 103). Needs a hook or towel bar for hanging clothes or robe in the bathroom. Was not able to ever lock the door with the key I was given. I manage 14 homes on the US and own 2, so I know about keys and locks. Enjoyed the location and charm of the inn.

Very serviceable hotel, not the fanciest, but does the job with a nice courtyard and in a great spot for exploring old Dijon. The staff was incredibly helpful in receiving us after a thirsty, and sweaty bike ride.

Great location, walking distance to Old Town
Hotel staff is friendly. It is very closed by to St. Michel in the Old Town. No lift and staircase is narrower from Level 02 to 03, quite a challenge for big luggage. Parking is along the road side or underground parking not far from hotel. Recommended for the proximity to Old Town sites.

Stay in the Renaissance area of the Old Town!
The main draw is the location in the old town next to Renaissance buildings and a church. Old building, so it has no lift but they helped with my large bag. Since it is a 2 star, the front desk is not open 24/7. The double room is a good size with a bathtub but no refrigerator. Dogs are allowed, so they are heard. But the windows are double sound-proofed so no noise from the street below.

Basic accommodations, well located and just five minutes walk from everything touristy. Service was fantastic. We had a family suite, which was in an adjacent building. The room was spotless. The bathroom was a bit too run down to be comfortable but the price made up for it.

Great location, clean room, OK breakfast but badly furnished bathroom - the door opened unluckily half way between the sink and the loo. Unfortunately the condition of the hotel (especially the stairs, walls and doors) where very poor. But it was OK for one night.

Dijon is a lovely French town, this hotel is in walking distance to the town centre with some great sites close by.

Bit overpriced for what it is
Lovely little town to go exploring (follow the "owl" trail on the pavements) and this hotel is pretty close to the trail. Was a bit annoyed that the price on the door was a lot lower than I'd been quoted. When I asked about this, they said it was because I was getting a bigger room (and I couldn't downgrade). Room was very basic and overpriced as far as I was concerned.

Lovely place in a historic neighborhood. Breakfast is somewhat scarce, but ok. My biggest issue was lack of air conditioning... makes it rough in Dijon in the middle of the summer in the 30-35C (90-96F) heat. There was a fan in the room, though.

Nice hotel
It's a 15-minute walk from the train station. The service was good. The room was small and very basic, but clean and perfectly adequate for a one-night stay. Breakfast next morning was great, well worth seven euros. There is no elevator; that was not a problem for me, but if you have mobility problems, it's worth thinking about - and asking for a ground-floor room. I'd definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a short walk from Gare de Lyon. Our room was small but had everything we needed. We declined breakfast, which consisted of croissants, fruit salad, yogurt, OJ, and coffee...could be worth 10 euros if you eat enough maybe. Not my favorite hotel, but it fit our budget and location criteria.

The hotel was exactly what we wanted - a family room for 5 people..... it was lovely, clean and cheap, very near the town centre.... it was perfect for a stop off on our way to Switzerland... the hotel staff were very polite and helpful...

Great location, cheapest prices in Dijon (double room for 40€ a night) as there isn't a Hostel in the city. WiFi cut out sometimes but was generally OK. I was on the top floor but there was only one toilet and one shower between 5 double rooms, so there was some waiting involved. I would stay there again though and would also recommend it to anyone who wants to go to Dijon but doesn't have the money to stay anywhere more expensive!

We booked superior double room with private bathroom. Bathroom is really basic with very weak shower spray. Room is clean and standard. Service could be better. We were not happy when we were sleeping inside the room and the staff used his key to get into the room without even knocking to collect portable heater inside the room. The location is good since it's within walking distance to the famous Dijon market and the cathedral. The receptionist is pretty informative and friendly in the way he showed us where to go and recommended some good restaurants.

Interesting stay in small boutique hotel. The hotel offers several types of rooms in its own 18th (?) century building. We were offered a separate room (#4) in an apartment next door above a small antique shop. These rooms were clean and warm with large lounge room with two couches etc, small bathroom with interesting bath/shower combo. Rooms had much rustic charm but access to this separate accom is via a small door between buildings and a narrow & steep staircase so not for the faint hearted. However we liked its overall character.

Reception (daytime and night) is good, friendly and helpful. Quiet place but easy to access to the maket. Breakfast room is comfortable. Wifi is good and a desktop with internet access is provided for free near the reception. highly recommended

Perfect place if on a budget
My girlfriend and I booked a room here while on a road trip which took us through Dijon. We were pleasantly surprised that given the price and the fact that the hotel is located in the center of town, it was actually a nice, quiet and comfortable place to stay. If the hotel is booked up, I can imagine that the thinness of the walls may affect some people's sleep, but we had no issues. Overall, it was clean, super convenient, quiet during our stay and a place I would happily sleep in again if we happen to be driving through Dijon in the future.

Charming hotel in the middle of town. we stayed in a room above an antique shop next door to the main hotel. The room was set up as a family room with three beds for us, but would have been great as a suite with bedroom and living room for a couple. The room was well furnished and comfortable. The kids loved the breakfast. All in all superb value.

Great hotel for great price in Central Dijon
We really liked Le Chambellan. It's not a luxurious hotel by any means, but it was clean and comfortable with very helpful staff. We had a double room with the bathroom and shower in the hall. The bathroom and shower room were very clean every time I was in there. Our room was cleaned well. The location for the hotel is nice- centrally located in Dijon. We would definitely stay here again especially for the price!

We had a room right at the top - shared toilet and shower but room quite large and very comfortable. Right in the key part of town so a little noisy on the saturday night. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

I stayed at the hotel on my road trip across southern France. When I arrived at the hotel, it was more than I could have expected. For the price, the room exceeded all expectations. The location was amazing, I had a room in the front of the building where I could see the old port, which was no more than 20 meters away. Also, right across the street from the hotel is a metro station which is ALWAYS convenient in any city in France. Highly recommended!
