One nighterPosted Nov 25, 2015
Pros: location off 20
Cons: breakfast area needs to be moved away from desk and more tables, also better coffee brand and pastry.
Location: Location behind McDonald's but I'm not familiar with area for things to do
The overall appearance outside is clean and my room /bath were clean and comfortable. They are renovating and it did not interfere with my stay. The hotel was a little difficult to get to as I am not familiar with the area. I was greeted by a friendly and courteous staff member and spoke with her a couple of times. The business area is something to be desired. Pile of newspaper on desk, sticky mouse and chair that was not working to raise up. The breakfast is the typical cold cereal, waffles, coffee, etc but the area is next to check in desk and only 2 tables.Terrible coffee and the pastry I had was nasty. I do not appreciate customers hanging around the front desk when I'm checking out and even though the young lady was friendly and courteous, she did not ask the 3 men to leave. Overall this is a good one nighter but nothing more

$350 for two nights I will never get backPosted Oct 13, 2015
No hair dryer No iron No coffee maker No ATM Dirty towels Clogged toilet Miniature room for two - could barely move around in it This was one of the of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at in my life. I could understand if it was $40 a night but it was $175 a night which makes it that much worse. It smelled like mold and had nothing in it. The price I paid for and the reviews I read made me think this place was decent. It was horrible and terribly overpriced. It had nothing. I highly recommend choosing another place.

Nice hotel and great friendly staffPosted Oct 6, 2015
Very nice hotel staff. They were putting in new carpet and she was very apologetic about the mess. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Got a very good rate as well.

Never again!Posted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: The staff.
I booked this hotel while traveling to Tuscaloosa, then on to New Orleans. I live in Texas, and booked the hotel based on reviews and pictures provided... The exterior is very nice, as well as the staff. The "Porntel" as we quickly nicknamed it was TERRIBLE. No elevators...we had to carry all of our luggage, plus 2 coolers up 2 flights of stairs. No men on this trip....the coolers were heavy! Ha! Once we got up to our room, the hallway smelled of smoke terribly. The room smelled even worse. I think the maid probably had just smoked a pack of cigarettes in right before we checked in. We immediately opened the window.. Ugh... The floor was filthy, stained and sticky. I will never stay here again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone!!! The only nice thing was the staff.

Football weekendPosted Sep 27, 2015
Cons: Hallways need new carpet and the hallways need air freshener
Location: University of Alabama is about 7 miles away
Small room but the staff was outstanding, particularly the football coach who was the late night and early morning clerk.

Hotel close to the stadiumPosted Sep 21, 2015
The hotel was not as nice as we were told it would be the employees were all very nice and they had a decent breakfast. We had to change rooms as soon as we got there because our bathroom toilet flooded the whole floor ... The rooms are small but clean ... Loved the water pressure for the shower !!

Good Basic Clean Quiet LodgingPosted Sep 12, 2015
Pros: Price was very good compared to other places we have stayed and the quality was higher.
Location: We went to visit a friend, so we did not explore local attractions
Staff were very nice, room was nice and clean. No complaints. Can't rate the breakfast because we slept in late. Bed comfort was a "B" All in all a good deal for the price.

Perfect for road trip stop. Room was supposed to have fridge and microwave but did not. Apart from that everything else was great.

Don't have high expectations for this hotel...Posted Aug 28, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel staff at check in were very unprofessional and snarky. The hotel stairwell wreaked of smoke. The vending machine was completely empty, meaning ALL items were sold out. I asked the front desk as well as the housekeeping staff not to enter and clean my room after day 1 they said they would make sure they wrote down my request. They entered and cleaned the room anyway. It did not need cleaning because I left it clean and expressed to them that I did not need towels or any other items. If I told the front desk and the housekeeping staff, who is left for me to ask, eek! It was an inexpensive hotel and I suppose I received all I could expect in terms of accommodations and courtesy for the price. I had very low expectations and was not disappointed. The gentleman who checked me out was nice.
