Acceptable hotel in lovely surroundings..Posted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: I liked the choice at breakfast and the peace and quiet and surroundings.
Cons: Having a working lift, being able to open the window properly and having someone on reception - or anywhere around -to take the key...a bell perhaps?
Location: Visiting family so I don't really know
I arrived quite late and was pleased with a bath in the room so I could relax in lovely hot water. Just as well as the shower and general aspect was very dated. I couldn't open the window more than a couple of inches - it was very stuffy.

Lovely groundsPosted Aug 11, 2015
The hotel was bathed in sunshine when we arrived which gave it a lovely feel, we had been out all day at a local attraction and was glad if the warm welcome. The food was really nice and the staff were happy to talk to us about general topics. The decor in places was beginning to show age and use but over all a good place to stay

Pleasant and PeacefulPosted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Luxurious traditional look.
Cons: Some of the staff could do with some customer service training. It was the only thing that let the hotel down.
Location: I was there to see a concert at the Epsom Downs racecourse.
Quiet location with nice views. Room was comfortable, tea tray had ceramic teapot and was well presented. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the lift and steam room were out of order, but these things happen.

2nd floor roomPosted Jul 18, 2015
My mum was given a room on 2nd floor even though she has heart problems and I asked for a 1st floor room. It would have been fine if the lift was working but this hadn't been working since the last review on here! Food was lovely though and breakfast staff were lovely.

Lovely character hotelPosted Jul 15, 2015
Always love coming to the area, and this hotel and the surroundings does not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was modern and comfortable, and the breakfast was plentiful and excellent value. My only complaint is that the rooms need some air conditioning during the summer months. Even with both windows open through the night and the ceiling fan on I was sweltering!!

Good value hotel, needs a refurb, would stay againPosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
Booked a one night stay at the Coulsdon Manor Hotel as I was working locallay. The I arrived late and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The general decor of the hotel looks very dated, in the corridors the carpets look worn and wallpapers need replacing. the room was comfortable albeit dated and very hot with little ventalation. Free wifi which was really good however it did occaisionally drop out. I would happily stay again for a night or two if on business.

Mothers Day in July??Posted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel needs a little TLC. I stayed in July and the poster in the lift was still advertising Mothers Day in May!!!!...that was before the lift broke down and the stairs were the only option. These little details make you wonder what the staff see when they are carrying out their daily tasks, it certainly looks like it needs a spruce up!

Weekend AwayPosted Jul 4, 2015 on Hotels
Overall very good. For a 4* it is not brilliant, if it was a 3* it would be excellent. The hotel is dated and needs a lick of paint and various lamps are out in rooms. The service is fantastic, however and breakfast is fantastic value for money with your breakfast cooked just how you like it. Our room was hot and the radiator would not turn off. There were 2 weddings going on during our stay and we were above the function room but you couldn't hear a thing. The rooms are very nicely furnished but could benefit from aircon.
