My expectations weren't high as I had been informed not to expect too much, but I wasn't impressed at all. From the car park which was covered in broken glass, to the decor which looked like it had not been refurbished for 20 years+ the hotel was basic at best. The bed sheets were clean, but the glass vanity table had a leg that wasn't properly attached, the security chain fell off the door frame and the bathroom wasn't particularly clean (including what looked like blood on the edge of the bath) and appeared to be very old. I decided to try for an early check out, but was given an incorrect check-out time by the staff, so still had to pay for the extra night. I'm afraid although the staff were polite, I can't recommend staying here and will be avoiding Britannia hotels where possible in future.

The room sets a new standard in hotel quality although this is the lowest I have experienced. To name but a few failings: dripping toilet valve; worn and discoloured carpet; torn towels and stained bed sheet; hard pillows; small and damp smelling bathroom with fungal spores on ceiling; badly chipped and soiled bath with mould on seals; lifts not operating with long delays to exit; poorly maintained outside and communal areas.

Dated and tired hotel. Could do with a refurbish!. Rooms and beds comfortable, but just looked like they needed a lick of paint and spruce up. The drive in was full of huge potholes too.
