Close to restaurants, and big box shopping, and movies. Local owned stores and restaurants about an 8 min drive.

Baby roach

It was terrible. Killed a baby roach in the bathroom when we woke up in the morning to leave. Told the front desk during checkout and she looked at me like I was inconveniencing her. I mean I did interrupt her breakfast. They did nothing about the experience except say they would note that. It was to early to argue and I was just passing through but I would not stay here!

Nice hotel convenient to freeway and restaurants

Continental breakfast could be improved. No problems at all. Easy check in and easy check out.

Pros: not much
Cons: overall cleanliness, condition of rooms.
Elevator was filthy, lobby floor had scrap paper strewn over check in area. The a/c-heater was so noisy we could not sleep, had to request another room.. Parking area had empty bottles and cans scattered around in addition to scrap paper. We received a wake up call at 04:55 that we did not request. The desk clerks could not explain why we received it.

Overpriced for the conditions

This place is pretty outdated. Had a musky smell. Overall did not feel clean. Shower curtain had some red mold or Mildrew on it. One pillow also had some black spots on it, not sure what that was. Breakfast was mediocre compared to other hotels in this cost range. If this had been a $60 a night place I would expect some of this, but at almost $120, it didnt stand up to others in this range.

Not the value I expect from Laquita and cost

I come to expect more when staying at Laquinta, especially the area this hotel was located. But it is in need of a lot of repair and smiling faces. I do have one bright spot the overnight manager was very accommodating.

They went the extra mile.

Pros: Close to the Interstate without the noise usually associated by being that close. Good restaurants close by.
Cons: Would like to see a breakfast meat on the breakfast buffet.
Location: Close to St. Tammany Parish Hospital, places to eat, places to shop.
We were staying in Covington LA to be close to the hospital where our grandson was to have surgery the next day. In our attempt to be at the hospital on time, we failed to give a good check around the room to make sure we left nothing behind. In our haste, my wife left her gown handing on the hook behind the bathroom door. We didn't realize our goof until we returned home and unpacked. We called La Quinta Covington and explained what happened. A staff member went to the room and found my wife's gown and sent it to us via U.P.S. That is going the extra mile and was greatly appreciated.
