Very nice hotel

Posted Apr 19, 2017
We stayed during the springbreak with our daughters. We liked everything of it, the food, the drinks, the service, pools and especially the beach because you can do snorkeling all day, the water was warm and very clear with lots of fishes. We had fun a lot.

Very organic hotel, starting to show its age

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Pros: I really like the layout of the hotel. There is plenty to do, it is right on the beach with boat, kayak and snorkeling gear. Staff is very friendly.
Cons: Maintenance. Housekeeping. All day use of pool tables. Designated non-smoking areas (I know it's a cultural thing)
Location: It is situated between wildlife preserves so there are a lot of iguanas and coatis around. There is nothing else to do that is within walking distance
We chose this hotel as a family reunion location. There were a variety of things for everybody to do and overall we had a nice time. We had some issues at check-in as we needed two rooms for our family with three young children and requested connected rooms 6 months in advance. They gave us rooms in two different buildings instead. The upstairs rooms have a natural material ceiling which lets in all of the noise, and small pieces of debris and insects sprinkle from the ceiling all day and all night. I expected some insects but my daughter couldn't sleep with the number of things crawling through her bed. The original set of sheets my bed was made with were blood stained - which is unsettling. The kids pool had a lot of nice features, unfortunately many of them didn't work and some were rusted and broken. The main restaurant had a nice variety of food for breakfast and dinners. We also had very pleasant experiences at the Oriental and Italian restaurants. The pool, fussball and air hockey tables were in very high demand. They are only available after 5 pm which made it difficult for many families to have a turn. There was a nice covered playground and a great little shop on site. Their prices were about 40% than those of street vendors and people walking the beach. If you don't like to haggle, it's a great place to go. We made use of the tennis courts several times and found them to be in very good condition. The restaurant and poolside servers were amazing.

Pros: Everything.........
Cons: Nothing, my stay was great.
Location: The beach was clean and the water was clear. The grounds were clean and well landscaped. I just came to enjoy the beach and the ocean.
IT was clean, food was excellent, staff was super nice and helpful. The people in the front office went out of their way to help me when the zipper on my luggage broke the morning I was checking out. I so appreciate them. The people in the dining room were also terrific.e

Close to some of the best dives

Posted Apr 13, 2017
Turtles, Sharks, and Grouper most dives. Saw a big moray eel out in the open, one smaller eagle ray playing in the sand and a big one gliding over a wall with a conch in her mouth. AWESOME trip.

Beautiful resort, terrible service and food

Posted Apr 6, 2017
Pros: The grounds were very nice, well kept. Nice beach and nice swimming pools
Cons: Food and service from staff need a complete overall
Location: Not much to do nearby, downtown Cozumel about 20 mins away
The resort is beautiful. This is first resort I have been to where breakfast is located in a closed dining room with no windows! All of the other resorts I have stayed at had the buffet on a main level with indoor seating with windows, or open air and usually outdoor dining. The service is slim to none, seems like they are under staffed. First morning waited at least 5 minutes before we were greeted and offered coffee. The breakfast buffet was ok, I think they had a deal on mini hot dogs, they were out every morning for breakfast, occasionally there would be bacon either half raw or so well done you couldn't chew it. One morning there was actually sausage. The egg lady was the best, friendly and very fast cooking eggs. Lot of breakfast entree's were leftovers from the previous nights dinner buffet. As that pretty much followed through for lunch also every day. The Mexican restaurant was disappointing, I ordered a stuffed polbano pepper, which came in a soup bowl, a clump of cheese, with a tiny strip of pepper on the bottom, Chicken taco appetizer was chicken taquitos, the quesadillas were good. Rice served with dinner was plain white rice, in a Mexican restaurant??? I had chicken enchiladas that tasted like they soaked in lime juice and actually looked like tacos. my friends had the steak and fish they were good. The best meal was the Japanese restaurant, but we checked in on Monday and no reservations until Saturday our last night. The pool swim up bar never had a bartender

Pleasant surprise

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Pros: The staff went out of their way to make sure guests were happy.
Cons: Communication with the Expedia. We bought a deal that was supposed to come with a $500 hotel credit. They knew nothing about it.
Location: We were there to relax so we only took a scooter to the empty side of the island to look at waves and blowholes. We really just stayed on the beach.
We discovered this was the same hotel we had stayed at about 6yrs before. It was better this time. All drinks were call liquor. The buffets were better than average.

Nice place. Good for the kids. OK for grandma.

Posted Mar 31, 2017
Pros: I liked the full range of options. Most of the services were OK. The Dive shop was good - this was my priority.
Cons: Most of the extra activities rolled up the sidewalk and shut off the lights between 7:30 and 9pm. I wanted and exercise or spa open late. No hot tub.
Location: Paradise is lost if you want a nice town.
Staff was very friendly. Holds a nice average level of over-all facility. They have kept up with steady upgrades to the property. They had some very safe shows for entertainment. Water sport options were pretty well run. The music blasting on the beach was not what I enjoy, but it was good with some of the people. I just prefer a beach with no noise.

Nice hotel, great beach.

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: Grounds, room style, beach.
Cons: Food.
Location: A bit farther from the action. Cabs were expensive.
I liked the separate room bungalows. You never had to walk down hallways. The beach was nice and clean and sandy. The food was just ok, but I find that at most all inclusive buffets. Overall, I would come back.
