Room Keys

Went with friends, each had our own room. Friends couldn't find their room key, so while they were looking my husband jokingly said I'll try mine. Much to our surprise and ALARM, we found our key worked in their door also. So check your key or ask abut that if you stay here.

Nice hotel close to everything

Cons: The concrete interior walls could be painted.
I would call Casa del Mar a rustic hotel. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The grounds were very well kept. WiFi worked. Will go back.

They try very hard to be accommodating. The facility is clean. Nice pool with a swim up bar that is in a boat at the restaurant. Will stay here again

My husband and I have gone to Cozumel since 1987.

Pros: The room was clean and the air condition worked
Cons: They need to put a hair dryer, safe back in the rooms.
Location: Dive shop is across the street.
This time we were very surprised to find that in a standard room they didn't offer a hair dryer, safe in the room, balcony, refrigerator, ice machine in the hall way, I could go on and on, and most if not all of these things were offered in the past. Just seems like they have really scaled back on the rooms.

In follow up your comments, probably there is a confusion, because we still offer rooms with hair dryer, iron, iron board, safe in the room, balcony, orgranic amenities, etc, but these are the Superior rooms categories, the standard categorie only has besic amenities with parking view, if you are interested with refrigerator into the room these are Ocean view room categories or deluxe cabanas. This time you booked a basic standard room category, I invite you to book our superior rooms, ocean or deluxe cabana where you will find extra amenities for make your stay more enjoyable. Not so much....

My wife and I where finishing up our anniversary stay at Casa Del Mar, as soon as we pulled in I knew it was a mistake, no smiles, no friendly greeting , check in was the same. Our first room was dingy with a dirty blanket on the bed, I asked for a upgrade, the upgraded room felt like a prison cell, the door hardly locked, the safe was broken every time we left we had to bring our valuables with us. The floor had not been cleaned it made your feet dirty, pubic hair in shower. After first night it was all I could take, paid for three nights through Expedia left after one. I called Expedia to norm them they called manager who refused to refund money.... all I can say is save your money... I would also add Expedia customer service is not what it used to be....

It was far enough away from the crazy tourist center, but close enough to anything that we wanted to do. A short walk or short cab ride for us to anything we wanted to do very conveniently. Quiet and peaceful. Will stay again for sure!!!

pool, close to small beach friendly staff

Pros: friendly staff nice set up I have stayed before
Cons: no refrigerator, no microwave or coffee in the room water available on every floor at no charge
Location: close to the boat ramp for diving short taxi ride into town good location
rooms are small but a/c works and water is warm in the shower. food at restaurant was reasonably priced and good facility is clean water available at no charge

I am a repeat offender!

I think this my 8th time here, but not sure. These folks just do a really nice job with everything: rooms are spotless; close to the beach; diving and swimming right across your private bridge. Good restaurant and bar. A little out of town, which is nice to avoid the bad crowds. Extremely helpful staff.

Fabulous, friendly employees! Wifi? Pillows?

The hotel staff was wonderful. The wifi, you have to pay for, was beyond bad. Pillows were like sleeping on something stuffed with scraps of material. Upon checking in the person said no refrigerators were available in the rooms, but after moving to the room we actually paid for after complaining....it had a refrigerator. Pay $5 a day for not much. Another person I met mention you have to watch bc they will try and down grade your room unless u say something. Not sure if this is true!

Decent for the money

I have stayed a Casa del Mar a few times and probably will again. If you get a good price on your room and are looking for a centrally located place, you will be ok here. It isn't particularly fancy or very well maintained but it is ok.
