Out of the Way, Out of this World

Posted Aug 13, 2017
Pros: It's away from the cruise ship/ferry dock craziness but only a 100 peso cab ride away. The room was wonderful, loved the pool, and WOW Daniel's food!
Cons: Rooms have louvered doors over screens so cannot be soundproofed, but the few other guests were very considerate.
Location: Well, it's a 3-minute walk to the airport!
This little hotel far exceeded our expectations! We were there for an event on Sunday but spent three wonderful nights. Got upgraded to a first floor room steps from the pool with a private dining table right outside the door. Not to be missed is the private chef, Daniel, who served us dinner all three nights. The best food we have eaten in years, anywhere in the world! The hotel owner, Dan, was a great host. We plan to go back for another mini-vacation.

Tasteful and comfortable hotel

Posted May 7, 2017
I found this hotel on line and was more than pleased. The owner, Dan, was remarkably helpful and accommodating. He had bikes to rent, access to a scooter that allowed me to tour the island and copious information. since a cold prevented me from diving in Cozumel, Dan suggested Holbox Island. Perfect. He totally wired me in to my next adventure, answered all my questions and was charming and communicative. The hotel is lovely, the courtyard and pool most inviting and a little TV from Harrisburg, PA was a bonus. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Gem right next to the airport!!

Posted May 5, 2017 on Hotels
One night stay after a Sat-Sat stay elsewhere on the island All was exactly as advertised. Eduardo carried my HEAVY bag up the stairs and I was set. I stayed in the Queen room #6, with it's own patio. Perfect for my afternoon reading spot. Lovely breeze. Daniel cooked up some tasty tacos for my dinner. Slept like a rock. Bed was extremely comfy (especially after 7 nights on a much harder Mexi-bed at the other resort). I walked into town (1.2 miles) for exercise and breakfast at El Museo (one of my faves) the next day. Taxi'd back for $2 US. Cleaned up and then walked to the airport to reluctantly leave paradise. Even with my heavy rolling luggage, the walk was easy. I will definitely keep this gem on my list for future trips, whether I need an add-on night or longer stay.

Very clean boutique traveller hotel

Posted Apr 1, 2017 on Hotels
Had a fantastic stay exploring Cozumel from Casita de Maya. The hotel is away from the hotel zone in a safe neighbourhood, even at night. We rented bikes right at the hotel, and used them for most of our adventures through Cozumel. If you can splurge, reserve the premier suite on the second floor with the private balcony. It definitely added to our experience.

From all of us at Casita de Maya, we would like to say "Thanks" for allowing us to have the pleasure of being your hosts while you vacationed on Cozumel. Whenever your travel plans consider visiting our beautiful island again, definitely keep us in mind.

Great find!

Pros: Small, quiet. Away from all of the tourist stuff.
Location: Right across from airport. Near car rentals and restaurants. Not close to the beach, but a cheap taxi ride down.
We decided to stay at Casita de Maya while in Cozumel for a couple of nights and we loved it! Dan, the owner is great!! It's a small, quiet place. Very client and really nice rooms. We will be back!!

Boutique hotel

Posted Mar 3, 2017
Pros: The hotel staff and owner very welcoming and made you feel at home.
Cons: Softer bedding and pillows
Location: Walkable to airport. 1 mile walk to beach, $5.00 cab ride to town. Hotel had beach cruisers available for daily rental or you could rent a car
This is a small quaint hotel very close to the airport. It's a 1 mile walk to the beach and a bit further to town, $5.00 cab ride. The owner and hotel staff very personable and make you feel at home. Daniel the cook is awesome and makes your food upon request. The rooms were clean and had a very authentic Mayan feel. If you are used to 5 star hotels with comfortable beds, it's an adjustment, but the personal touch makes up for the luxurious hotel admenities. Would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Thank you for your comments and nice words about our establishment. Yes the beds are not like at home. Mexico for some reason sells only firm mattresses. We hope that you will think of us next time you are in the area.

Conveniently located and charming little hotel:

Posted Jan 24, 2017
For my first time on the island with only a few days to stay, Don's lovely little hotel and his super friendly team where perfect for the occasion. I learned alot about Mexican culture and cuisine while here and Dan was great help in navigating me through them. The best meal I had on the island was at one of his recommondations "La Perlita" The only thing i would improve is more lighting in the vanity area and perhaps better soundproof windows and doors. Otherwise, Perfect! Thank you to Daniel for his thoughtful meals and Eduardo for always being ready with XX and Don Juan tequila.
