Hide Away

Pros: The View especially when the sunsets, is so beautiful!!
Cons: the Staff
Location: We rented a car, the island is safe and clean Island is a circle so getting lost would be crazy. Also the food is delicious at the nearby restaurant.
this Boutique is quiet, calming, relaxation the scenery is breathtaking truly amazing.

Under construction, too much construction noise

The location of the hotel was great, beach access in the hotel zone. When we checked in our room was upgraded to an ocean view room instead of the jungle view because that was all they had available because this hotel is going thru a huge addition and remodeling. At check in, I was told I needed to pay additional for my children over 12 years old to the tune of $1,600.00 pesos per person per night (about $77.00 dollars), my room costed about that much per night! nowhere in the front desk were these fees listed, no manager available to discuss, I decided to book a second room for them and save about 50% of the cost by not adding them to my room and they got their own room. First morning the construction started at 7:00 A.M and was not able to sleep after that, the second day the noise started at 8:00 A.M. WiFi was down for about 1/2 day on the second day of our stay and no TV service available neither. Spoke to management and only received a "we are sorry for the inconvenience" will NOT recommend.

Disappointing

Overall we were disappointed in our stay at Hotel B. The pool area and "beach" part were very nice, but small. Once there were more than 5 or 6 people at the pool, relaxation was out the window, which was a shame because the ocean view was amazing. You could also snorkel right there, but they didn't have enough equipment and gave it to people leaving the resort for the day, so we were unable to do so. The room was a far cry from what it looked like in the pictures. This property is very old and needs to be updated. The room was not really clean (our feet were constantly dirty from the floor, the sheets didn't smell fresh, the towels were old and shabby) and the sewer smell in the bathroom was awful. The highlight was the staff and the food! Everyone was so nice and tried to help us and the food in the restaurant was excellent! Our servers were fantastic! I believe this had a 4 star rating and I would give it a 2.5. Bummer.

Nice view, bad service and food

We've had good experiences here in past 2 years, but something went south here this year. Didn't seem as if the staff had been trained properly, especially the wait staff at the restaurant and the maid. Food was inconsistent and often missing, or rather never arrived at the table. At times we got tired of waiting for our food and just ask for the check which sometimes took another half hour or more. I've heard of laid-back but this took it to a new level. The towels were ratty looking and anything but soft. The cards to open the door didn't work most of the time. The jeep we got that was recommended by front desk was a piece of junk and overpriced. I will not return here

Desk employees

Front desk employees seemed preoccupied at the computer rather than acknowledging a guest. An advanced email was sent to request rooms on the second floor but they had no knowledge of the request (this has happened before). The dining room staff gave wonderful serve every day.

Great Hotel

Pros: Staff, location, quite.
Cons: More constant hot water when you need it.
Location: The quite north end of the island, great location.
Super staff, great people like Andres and Miguel downstairs. We have been staying here since it was the old Hotel Fontan. Best deal on the island.

Peaceful Paradise

Pros: The grounds and pool area, being able to dive into the ocean from the pier
Cons: The towels in the rooms
Location: Its a $5 cab ride to center city
We spent 6 days and had two rooms on the first floor with ocean views. The hotel proved to be a real value. The grounds are well kept and all the extras exceeded our expectations. The evening sunset was beautiful and while sipping on a $3 Pina calada made it even more enjoyable. We will return to this hotel in the near future. Megule the restaurant water was grat as was most of the other staff.

Nice Property-rooms need help

The bed was hard as sleeping on a plank of wood. And would it be to hard to have a screen on the door to listen to the sounds of the water? Excellent service staff and really good breakfast
