Relaxing oceanfront paradise

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Pros: This hotel looks like a Mexican Caribbean hotel. Not a modern impersonal high rise. This is why i go to Cozumel.
Cons: I don't think I would change anything.
Location: North end of the island, snorkeling is the best. Rent a car to explore the other side of the island one day. Car can be delivered to you.
We had an amazing stay at the Playa Azul hotel in Cozumel. The north end location was perfect for us! I spent a lot of time reviewing all the options other resorts and hotels had to offer and I'm so glad Playa Azul was my choice. I have stayed in several other locations on the island, and I have never had a room so close to the ocean. Every morning, our view from our balcony was the sparkling blue and turquoise Caribbean sea. Because this a small hotel, all the rooms are close to the water. It's so easy to get to the beach for quick snorkel trips, then back out to relax in a beach chair, or to get a drink at the relaxing, friendly beach bar. It's not necessary to pack a bag for a long trip to the beach because the rooms, the pool, and the bar/restaurants are so close. I loved the snorkeling and the convenience of the water access. It is not a long sandy beach. Just step carefully over the first 15 feet or so, and the snorkeling begins. Lots of variety of fish, and the colors of the water....amazing. The staff were among the most friendly people I have met on the island. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great vacation. From the front desk check in, to the bartenders and wait staff, and the cleaning staff, everyone was so nice. I enjoyed being away from the downtown crowds. Taxis are always available to take us to that area though for around $7-$8 USD.

Posted Jul 3, 2017
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Not for me...
Location: Close to town by taxi,, moto or bike if you choose...easy to rent moto for day ...great dive shack Blue Dream right next door...
Great staff ...so nice to see familiar faces again. Far away from town for quiet yet close enough to shop or grab a beer. Beautiful beach, great snorkeling and diving available....We will be back!

Small & Quaint

Posted Apr 21, 2017
Small & Quaint hotel with service to match. Seems to have repeat visitors. Beach water access. Good options were as expected, also 2 lobster restaurants just across the street. Staff was very nice. I would come back.

Dreamy Little Getaway

Posted Apr 18, 2017
Wow! A gem of a hotel! We LOVED this resort. Such awesome ocean views from the 4th floor! It's well laid out, the pool is cleaned daily and very well kept, the beach is unbelievable for relaxing and swimming. We never fought for an amazing ocean view on the sand under the little cabanas. WITH wait staff service on the beach! The food? AWESOME again! We had fajitas when we arrived - good, we had the breakfast every day - good, we had a couple different appetizers that were delicious and the fried shrimp tacos? I miss them already! The resort is in a perfect location, close to airport, an $8 taxi ride to and from downtown with the kindest, most accommodating drivers. We didn't choose to book a tour or anything formal with the front desk but they were incredibly helpful with everything. We chose to use local taxi drivers for tours throughout the island of Cozumel and I didn't even know that was possible until Salvador at the front desk suggested it! I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else the next time I go to Cozumel and I WILL be back! What an excellent vacation!

Quiet beach, close to town.

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Very quiet beach and super close to the water all rooms face ocean and yet close to town about 2 miles totally recommend if your looking for an quiet get away the rooms aren't super clean such as what you would see in a five diamond hotel things are a bit dated but it definatley offers a quiet setting with spectacular views and staff is very helpful. It is comparable to an motel 6 in the USA but with a great view and friendly staff

Cozumel for a few days

Posted Mar 27, 2017
Pros: Beach and cleanliness.
Cons: Outdoor pool chairs were the only things that seemed to be aging.
Location: Nice restaurants across the street. Also very close to downtown. Beach walk is nice.
We've been in Cozumel lots of times. We never stayed here. Very impressed. What a cute hotel! And the beach is INSANE. Such a beautiful section of beach and rocks - the colors are gorgeous. And it's such a nice calm, laid back hotel. Not tons of people. Food is great. And the hotel is CLEAN, CLEAN - very well maintained. We were surprised, our expectations were lower. I would definitely recommend.

Nice small hotel

Posted Mar 13, 2017
Pros: The food and teh service
Cons: The beds and the pillows! They are clean, they just need to be updated
Location: It is in the hotel strip, there is a lobster place right outside and the ride downtown is very short.
The hotel is not very new, but it is small and clean. Everyone is very kind, the food is really good considering the fact that it is an all inclusive, and you are right on the beach.

Will go again!

Had a fabulous time at the Playa Azul. It is smaller than most of the all-inclusives, so we were closer to the beach, and felt like the service was more personal. The breakfast was varied and delicious, and since we don't eat 3 meals a day, it was worth not purchasing all-inclusive and simply going with the complimentary breakfast. The beach is perfect for snorkeling and the view is fabulous. There are too many wonderful people to name---everyone who works there deserves a hug--they are so sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend Playa Azul.

Got a partial water view room. Put us on 1st floor and the room is blocked by tree. Hardly have any view. Waste of money.

Thank you very much for your review. I am sorry that you didn't like your room... We did our best, we received your request for a king size bed and in high season it is hard to move rooms, but we did with you to comply the king size request. We hope to see you again in a future. Best regards
