Cold in the Mountains

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: I liked the location in the mountains and by a great championship golf course. The golf course had a great breakfast, the hotel didn't.
Cons: It is a ski resort primarily but if they want to appeal to golfers, they have got to widen their scope of the services they offer.
Location: This was the reason we stayed there. Their location is wonderful.
The rooms are very nice. But very cold. The air conditioning was set too high and the air was very dry and stale as a result of the air conditioner. The bed was comfortable. The view was great and the service was good. The location is great and the restaurant was good.

Excellent Hotel next to the ski lift.

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: Out of the way and surrounded by forest and the central ski lift station
Cons: The pool was not clean. debris was on the bottom and the water appeared cloudy, Comments to the desk were not taken seriously
Location: Hiking, Golfing cycling on paved path to Cranbrook.
Decent Hotel with Montana's on the main floor. Dinner was great. The rooms were a little dated but clean.

For the price paid, this lodge was disappointing. We were told when we checked in that breakfast was from 730 to 1030. When we came down for breakfast, it turned out that it was a cafe where you could buy breakfast. The sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable and would not have been an option for another night. When we checked out, we were charged a second time for the hotel with a different credit card that was only supposed to be for the security hold, even though I had already paid it online...and it was a way cheaper price! They refunded the cheaper price of course but only after I had to question what the charge was for (since I knew we didn't trash the room at all)

Inflexible Staff

Posted Aug 3, 2015
When we tried to check in at 3 pm on a rainy Monday afternoon we were told that we could not possibly be allowed in a room until 4 pm even though the hotel was deserted at the time. I would have understood if they were busy, or I had been given a reason, but since they were not busy and I was not given a reason for the complete lack of flexibility I would say the room was nice, but the front desk clerk needs to work on her people skills.

Fantastic stay at Trickle Creek Lodge

Posted Aug 1, 2015
On a golf vacation. Stayed two nights at the Trickle Creek Lodge. Great rate (half the price than our two night stay at the Fairmount Hot Springs Resort and nicer accommodations). Upon our arrival we were upgraded from a studio suite to a 1-bedroom suite. It was very clean, very good condition and king bed was very comfortable. Our balcony looked out at the ski hill. Very quiet. We ate the adjoined Montanas Restaurant which seemed very new. We ate in the bar part - our food was very good. We would definitely stay here again. May come down to ski in the winter because of this visit. The Bavarian square townsite was neat. We really enjoyed the new bar entitled, the Shed, in town Great food and a very trendy place to go. Beautiful area.

Very clean but a bit disappointing

Posted Aug 1, 2015
We only stayed one night to cut our trip home in half. We had a king suite so our girls could share the sofa bed and we would have a king. Everything was very clean and the staff was all very friendly and helpful. It just had a few strange disappointments. In the room with the king bed (which was actually two twin mattresses put together), there was barely enough space to get between the bed and the unit holding the tiny, tube tv with no inputs. Personally, I'd recommend they just get rid of the unit and put a flat screen on the wall so you can get to the other side of the bed. We had the same experience with the sofa bed, but that is a little more expected since it's usually just a couch. It just made it difficult to maneuver around the room when the kids were in bed. It did have a well stocked kitchenette with table and chairs which was nice and the size of the room overall was great. The only other thing was the pool and hot tubs. The surface is very rough and missing in many places - especially in the hot tubs. However, it was plenty warm and my kids certainly weren't complaining since they got to swim!
