Family and larger groups Hotel

Posted Feb 11, 2016
Pros: Location was good, walk to the boat dock for Manatee dives. Morning front desk "Sarah" was gracious and helpful
Cons: re: bus groups hotel could set up breakfast in a meeting room or open the dining earlier than 6:30am. groups wet suit up, leave at appointed times
Location: Crystal River is a good for Manatee Dives, day trips (we went to Cedar Key) and fishing charters in Yulee, Homosassa Springs and Ozoney.
Motel is in six two-story buildings, caters to large groups. No elevators. Breakfast room jammed and staff that run things are not able to keep up the food supply, beverage supply, tables cleaned, floors cleaned as the groups descend upon the place for their deadline-oriented breakfasts. Chaos does not sufficiently describe the crush or the lines waiting for resupply of food choices. Cleaning staff for rooms seems overwhelmed. Rooms weren't ready upon check-in and we noticed the same treatment of others on successive days. One couple loudly complained at 4:45pm as they arrived for the third time that the room still wasn't ready; it had been prepaid or else they would have moved elsewhere.

Good access to rivers in the area.

Posted Dec 29, 2015
Pros: Dog friendly and very good breakfast
Cons: Good scrubbing of bathroom.
Location: River cruises, kayaking, hiking and biking trails. Lots of commerce in the area including groceries, mall, movies and franchise eating galore.
The hotel offers a good jumping off point for some wonderful natural settings. The free breakfast has many offerings and is well maintained by the staff. The room was okay but the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should be. In the end, it served the purpose as home base. It is dog friendly which is why I chose it.

Perfect spot for a scalloping trip

Pros: Location, price, free boat slips
We have stayed here every summer since 2007. It's not a fancy hotel but it's a perfect location, with a boat ramp and slips. The rooms are clean, the staff is polite. The breakfast is nice with a good selection. We are able to park our car and boat trailer and not move it for the entire weekend. The gas grills and picnic table are a great addition, and the restaurant next door has good food and live music. We will be back again next year

Right on the water

Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The boat slips are few and some are too narrow to dock in.

Old hotel, needs remodeling.

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: The breakfast buffet was very nice. Something for every taste.
The room smelled like chemicals. No blankets or extra pillows. The carpet in the lobby is filthy and there was a woman on her hands and knees scrubbing spots during the breakfast hours.
