No they're not rocks, just a group of lounging manatees...Three Sisters Springs is the location for these sea cows...the count was approximately 300+ for this week Visiting the manatees at Three Sisters Springs. The water is stunning and you can even snorkel with them. The manatees come to the springs in the winter since the water temperature stays at 74 degrees. This is where wild manatees come to spend the winter months. You can even go swimming with them! During our month long road trip from VT to MIA, we stopped in Crystal River to visit Jenn's parents and had the amazing opportunity to swim with these adorable endangered mammals at Three Sisters Springs. Water from the springs flows from the ground at a constant 72 degrees F; manatees rarely venture into water temperatures below 68 degrees F. #manatees #travel #endangered #florida #threesisterssprings #welovetoexplore Have you ever been scalloping? This is a hugely popular water activity in our hometown of Crystal River. Chances are if you've ever swam with a manatee, you've been here before. It's a blast for all ages, and the best part is, you are rewarded with a delicious dinner at the end of a long day ;-) Yum!
If you are looking to check this off your bucket list, check out our latest post at http://thetradingtravelers.com/how-to-catch-scallops-a-hometown-post/ rented a kayak to see the Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River, great find! Located on the West Coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, this beautiful 50 year old luxury resort is surrounded by the natural springs of King's Bay. This bay and Crystal River are home to more than 400 West Indian Manatees that migrate each year to the warmth of the springs. This shot of the tree-line reflected on the water was taken from the Gazebo on the small peninsula off of the pool area. A nice place to wind up with your date or spouse and some champagne and strawberries. #treetrove Snorkeling with the resting manatees in Three Sisters Springs! #blue Manatees gather in large numbers in warmer springs when winter chills Florida's coastal waters Swimming with the manatees in crystal river was so fun! There isn't much to do in the city, but the tour was great. Pick a warm day because it can be chilly! Water is gorgeous! Great day for pontoon float. Beautiful grounds surrounded by water Great local breakfast and lunch restaurant with wonderful home cooked meals, friendly staff and fabulous prices. In main drag in Crystal Springs. Call me crazy but I love black vultures.
#FindingtheUniverse I made a friend at Crystal River that followed my boat until I stopped! Avoid the tourists and continue down the channels for an up close and personal experience with the manatees! Continue past the crowds and hop on in, the water is the same temperature year round. This is where you can swim with the manatees during the winter times you see a lot of them . Kayaked to the spring in a hot summer day, it was awesome cristal clear 72 degree water Cutest little Winery close to the springs in Crystal River.
