Very dated, but close to city center

Posted Apr 2, 2018
Pros: Close to city center
Cons: Needs AC
Location: 2 blocks from Touribus, easy walk to museums and the Zocalo, Dali sculptures and cathedral
At check in, the front desk tried to charge me extra for my teenager; apparently they consider anyone over 6 to be an extra adult. I showed the expedia itinerary stating there would be an adult and a child in the room, and the manager came over and "waived" the surcharge. The hotel doesn't look like the rooms have been renovated since the 60s: cracked pink bathroom tile, no way to control room temperature. I'm not sure there was actually any AC, just a window and a fan. WiFi is patchy. The room safe was an old-fashioned contraption, with a $10 charge to rent a key; it won't hold anything bigger than a midsize camera. The front desk has no security deposit boxes. The restaurant staff is very pleasant, and it is only blocks to the touribus and the central part of the city. Room size was fine, and the water pressure was fair. There was a spigot in the bathroom with drinking water, but we stuck with bottled.

The hotel was ok for its price, the location was good even though the are gets a bit sketchy specially in the night and very noisy through out the day.

Great hotel close to Belles Artes

Posted Mar 5, 2018
Pros: Within walking distance of Belles Artes and Almeda Park.
I was recommended to this hotel as it met all the criteria I was looking for in Mexico City. The price was reasonable, the hotel and rooms were spotless, and it is within walking distance of many of the places I wanted to visit, including Palacio de Belles Artes, Almeda Park, and Constitution Square. It is also close to the metro (Juarez) which will take you to other highlights of the city including the home of Frida Cahlo.

Stripped down

Posted Feb 22, 2018
The hotel is an older hotel, but nothing has been done to upgrade even a little bit. No heat, no air, slow WiFi, not even a coffee maker. No amenities to bring up the rating.

Good basic hotel at the right price.

Posted Jan 17, 2018
Pros: Beds are queen-sized, not the smaller doubles, and come with a blanket rather than the trendy but overly-warm quilt.
Cons: The pillows are Mexican-style hard; how about something that won’t leave an ear-ache.
Location: Just south of numerous major attractions around Park Alameda Central.
‘No problem recommending this hotel despite it’s being a bit faded. Queen beds in good-sized rooms with natural light and a generous breakfast buffet.

Resevation issue

Posted Jan 9, 2018
Pros: Location
Cons: Having the reservation.
The front desk is unable to find my reservation and have my credit card number on hold in the meantime. I booked this November 17th.

The room was an inside one which looked out into the centre of the hotel - so no view. Fine for us because we were only sleeping in the room and it was nice and dark! Staff friendly and helpful.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the price of it was good and appreciated.
Cons: Softer pillows. I had to use my rolled up coat as a pillow.
Location: Excellent!
I found the staff to be very professional and helpful. I live in Mexico and need to leave a few times a year. Therefore, I stay in Mexico City both on my way out and on my return. I will stay there again and will recommend it to my friends.
