good base for the Lake District

Posted Oct 31, 2015 on Hotels
Accommodation and facility: The accommodation is above a pub. The breakfast is included in the room rate and is served in the pub downstairs. The full breakfast was quite good. The lighting in the room was a bit dark and there's no desk, so I could only put my laptop on the bedside cabinet. The beds were quite comfortable. We stayed during the weekend and there're customers in the pub who sang Karaoke until the midnight, so it was a bit noisy. We went to bed quite late, so this was not a big issue for us, but if you prefer a quiet place to stay, this may not be ideal. Location: The location is outside the town centre. There're Asda and Tesco supermarkets within walking distance, and free parking on the street nearby. We stayed here because it's close to the Lake District (within 1 hour's drive) and cheaper than staying within the Lake District. Service: The staff members were friendly and helpful.
