Nice hotel, close to centre of Windemere.Posted Sep 19, 2016
Pros: It was a traditional Victorian establishment, furnished completely with period pieces. The shower was fantastic.
Cons: It could not be improved.
Location: Lakeland Motor Museum, including Donald Campbell's bluebird exhibit, was well worth seeing. As was Beatrix Potters Gallery.
As a base to sight see the Lakes area, it was a perfect location.

Amazing guesthouse with great hostsPosted Aug 19, 2016 on Hotels
We had a lovely stay - it's clear that they put a lot into running the guesthouse, and they were very knowledgable about things to do in the area, and it's history. It's mid way between Bowness and Windermere, which means you've got loads of choices for food. The breakfast was amazing - cereal, toast and cooked options, all good quality and fresh (saw the butcher delivering the meat). We were very impressed and 100% would stay again if we return.

Good solid hotel in a good locationPosted Aug 1, 2016 on Hotels
Great positioned hotel about 1 mile from Bowness and 1/2 mile from Windermere. Beautifully decorated with old fashioned decor throughout. Breakfast was great. Was very peaceful.. The hotel was full but we couldn't hear a sound from any other rooms. we only had slight issue when we arrived at 1pm and although we knew check in was 4pm we rang the buzzer just to see if it was ok that we left the car and went for wallows but no-one was around. Not really an issue though.

Lovely 5 star B&BPosted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: Owners have all relevant information available to ensure visitors are catered for.
Cons: Really enjoyed all, breakfast really hot and cooked very well.
Location: There are many things to do within walking distance of the quest house.
Had a lovely stay at this guest house, June & Ross (owners) were very helpful without being intrusive. Room was really nice, very traditional , 4 poster bed. Thoughtful addition of a fan or a heater (dependent on your lovely weather)

The Newstead hotelPosted Jul 5, 2016 on Hotels
Newstead hotel was in a great location, walking distance to everything, we didn't use the car all weekend. The facilities at the hotel were all that we needed. The full English at breakfast really set you up for the day. Friendly family run hotel that we will definitely visit again.
