Pros: Pretty much everything, we were both surprised how well equipped apartment lounge was. Wasn't expecting this at all. Max marks for this :)
Cons: The only criticism would be lack of proper soft playground (indoors for kids). The one on site there is really hardly anything to be fair.
Location: Great location with an 1h drive to most of superb locations with stunning views in Lake District. Can't really complaint.
Our overall experience was great, much better that we expected. Yes, you have to pay for wifi - but who cares? Yes, you can hear noise from A6/M1 but glass of wine in the evening make this disappear :) I think passing trains were making more noise than road traffic to be honest.

Great place to stay

Location: Located 2 mins from the M6 and on the A6. We used it as a base to visit morecambe bay and the Lake District.
What a great place to stay, we used as a base for 3 nights to explore the north west. It exceeded all our expectations located on the waters edge with a great view, the lodge was very well presented with plenty of space and fitted out with good quality fittings, comfortable beds, nice bright and airy rooms. The reception area with restaurant, amusement area, games room, lounge bar and entertainment area were great as well with a range of food served from the restaurant to suit anyone's taste. The staff we dealt with were very polite. We never used the water sports, swimming, gym or sauna but will do when we return. All in all a very good experience. Thank you

Nice facilities but....

Late check in and early check out feels like a rip off. Need to pay for facilities including pool, gym and guess what 'wifi'. The lake is good and corridors clean. Car parking right next to your room helps a lot.

Lovely

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my husband in one of the studio apartments. Everything was clean and comfortable and an ideal location for exploring the surrounding areas. Staff in the reception, bar and restaurant couldn't have been more friendly. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Nice hotel, staff could be nicer

Nice hotel but the staff could be nicer. Also be ready to pay an extra for absolutely everything. Check in is at 4PM and check out at 10AM which is too late and too early respectively. Staff is so rude that they call you at 10AM sharp threatening (in a very bad way) with charging an extra if you do not leave immediately. A great place but with that low point. The lodges are big and comfortable, and are fully equipped as a house. Regards

Like an Ibis but expensive

Lake nice. Rooms like any Ibis but too expensive. Small swimming pool we didn't use it. And paying extra for amenities and Internet it's just a terrible idea. Why don't they just ad 15 pounds to the price of the room and don't act like a low cost airline. The resort is not low cost. Brilliant lake view from the Lodge. Ugly restaurant and bar. The machines doesn't work they keep your money and lady in reception couldn't help. It's not a 4 stars hotel! ITS NOT LAKE DISTRICT Expedia is not clear about that.

Location: Close to M6 short trip to the Lakes also close to Cartmel racecourse.
We had a fabulous time staying in a lakeside lodge very peaceful and relaxing.

Cleanliness and hygiene

Cons: General cleanliness
I was shocked to find someone else's pyjamas under my pillow as i was going to sleep!! This only tells me one thing.....the bedding had not been changed! Needless to say I did not sleep in the bed that night! Very disappointing!! Apart from that.....lovely log cabin in nice location but all that has been marred by the thought that the bedding from the last guests had not been changed for us.

Check out at 10 am. No one will tell you. Then charge you 10 pounds per hr. Check in 4 pm ... what remain from your day. Swimming is 10 pound extra
