convenient for walking into AmblesidePosted Sep 3, 2015
Pros: Nice shower
Location: close to all shops and restaurants in ambleside
Not quite as nice as I had hoped for the price, most of the staff where very nice and helpful. bed was soft with a hollow so couldn't get comfortable and couldn't sleep due to back ache

It's dated and old fashioned....Posted Aug 28, 2015
Staff are fantastic, very friendly welcome and free car parking. Set in really attractive grounds and just a short walk to town centre. Breakfast was generous and service excellent. The room felt damp and was dated. But it was clean and a good size. Beds comfortable, good TV channels and excellent wifi. Cost, we stayed bank holiday week and with limited availability we had very little options - if you attribute the nightly cost to the experience then it's way way over priced. Out of season it's probably good value. Overall - for a last minute getaway we overpaid, but it's adequate for a night or 2.

For that extra special occasion.Posted Jun 12, 2015
Pros: We had a suite which was like a home from home.
Cons: Pricey but very nice.
Location: Very handy for Ambleside if you fancy a short walk to the pub or restaurant... or Lakeside for the ferries.
Unfortunately didn't arrive early enough to experience an evening at the hotel but it did look cosy when we checked in at 11ish.

Excellent hotel in superb location for touring. Hotel staff were extremely efficient and friendly. Room was excellent, more like a suite. Would definately use this hotel again.

Stayed in the Loughrigg suite, really top quality with a Really nice touches, bathroom was probably the best feature. Walk in rain shower and massive bath, plus underfloor heating.

Good stayPosted Nov 5, 2014
Very good family room. Plenty of tea and coffee, good beds and a very decent bathroom. Exceptionally good breakfast - both in terms of choice and quality (can't comment on evening meal as we were elsewhere for that). Good location and nice staff too.

Quite nice hotelPosted Oct 22, 2014 on Hotels
There is only one bad thing in this hotel. We were able to use Wi-fi, but the net work connection was weak.
