Pleasant, Clean and Comfortable.

Posted Oct 28, 2016
I only stayed one night so didn't see too much of the hotel. I was made welcome and given all the help/advice I needed. The hotel and the room were very clean and comfortable. Probably one of the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. Very nice breakfast, cooked to order but I didn't have to wait an age to get it. The only downside was the difficulty parking but that was more because of other peoples inability to park properly. Overall, a good place to stay in Grange.

Thank you for your lovely review, sorry about the parking, those difficult stone plant stands will be moved in the Spring, so it will be easier to manoeuvre!! Glad you slept well, should sleep even better with the new Hypnos beds :)

Hotel staff were incredibly polite: when we was struggling for a lift to Cartmel they went out of their way to drop us off: highly recommended and I would visit again also facilities are awesome

Charming victorian hotel with modernised bathrooms and bar facilities. Spacious if somewhat odd shaped single room. Staff very hospitable

Short break

Posted Sep 23, 2016
Pros: Location is central in Grange and a good starting point for walks etc.
Cons: Perhaps a new mattress in the superior double room and breakfast staff could have checked to see if everything was ok with our breakfast.
Location: Very central - can walk to Esplanade, railway station, plenty of cafes and a few shops.
Warm greeting and check in. Lovely clean room with nice ensuite. Great drinks tray in the room with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Mattress a little uncomfortable. Breakfast choice was great and good quality but was disappointed with the cooked breakfast in that my scrambled eggs were not cooked. I'm sure they would have replaced them though had I asked. Easy check out too.

Thank you for all your comments. Although you stayed before we took over the Hotel, we welcome all your points, and we are updating and totally renovating the beautiful Victorian building. The new Hypnos beds have already started arriving, so next time your sleep will most certainly be an improvement on your last visit. We look forward to meeting you in the future. All Best Wishes.

Town centre location on Bay Cycle Route

Posted Sep 19, 2016
Pros: location, price, friendly welcome and excellent food
Cons: nothing
Found this hotel on my 3rd look for accommodation whilst doing the Sustrans Bay Cycle Route. It was half the price of other local hotels so I was a bit apprehensive. Fears unfounded. Very warm welcome. Secure storage for our bikes. Two basic single rooms that were clean and obviously recently refurbished. Lovely hot shower and very fluffy new towels. We had dinner in the restaurant as nothing else nearby looked exciting. Food and service were excellent. Far above the standard we expected for small hotel. Fantastic breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Nice hotel convenient for centre of Grange

Posted Sep 19, 2016
Pros: Very well-decorated and furnished in good taste. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.
Cons: The vegetarian cooked breakfast.
Location: Good location near the shops and only a few steps from the promenade.
Beautifully-decorated, comfortable and spacious room. Quiet location close to shops and the promenade. Did not enjoy the vegetarian breakfast, however. It included a strange fried savoury which was not tasty. It and the potato scone were clearly factory-made. Poor-quality bread was used for the toast.

Apologies for your breakfast served at The Lymehurst. Following a change of ownership the bread is now all supplied by Grange Bakery using organic flours, and supplying artisan breads daily for breakfast. If you get the opportunity to visit Grange once again, we hope to meet you for a better experience.

Pros: On arrival Simple professional instructions, cleanliness friendliness able to come in late not a problem, food fantastic lovely breakfast.
Cons: Maybe small fridge in room for water and milk instead of flasks or u t h cartons.
Location: The views along the bay are stunning, beautiful gardens and interesting shops. Lots of places to eat. Only a stones throw from many interesting places
From arrival the staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel everywhere was spotless. My room was excellent very comfortable and had everything I needed. The tea was delicious and the biscuits lovely after a long journey.

Great Hotel, above standard.

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Well located and the food was excellent.
Cons: The en suite was small but adequate.
Location: Grange is a great place to visit and is close to the Lake District. We liked Humphrey Head and did the Beatrix Potter exhibitions.
We really enjoyed our stay with Andrea and Kevin. The room we had was comfortable, if a bit small. Everything worked. The big plus was friendly staff and super cuisine. We were made very welcome.

Good option for lakes

Posted Oct 31, 2015
Room was very clean and beds comfy. Food in the Bistro very tasty and lots of options for breakfast - cooked really well. Ensuite lop didn't flush very well but nice touch having facial wipes in the bathroom. Staff were very friendly - just forgot our drinks with the meal which is why rated 4 instead of 5. Good location to explore any part of the Lake District.
