Good hotel. Clean, safe and comfortable.

I stayed here for 5 nights with several colleagues attending a conference and we had a good stay. Rooms are clean and well-appointed with comfortable beds and good showers. Bar, breakfast and food were all excellent, if a little pricey. There are lots of good reataurants, a little tourist market and a good supermarket within a 10 minute walk. The hotel has very good, but friendly, security staff. My favourite thing was the outside bar area and the pool. The pool was very clean, nice temperature and the pool attendant was so lovely and really helpful. I would definitely recommend the Novotel.

Hotel is in a very good location

Hotel has good reception area, bar, restaurant, terrace. Unfortunately the corridors are dated and the rooms are disappointing. The rooms reflect a cheap hotel, basic beds, austere comforts and a plastic bathroom unit stuck in one corner. Towels had seen better days. Its such a shame as the food was great, terrace pleasant, staff terrific and in such a good location. Simply there are better hotels in Dakar for the price

This Hotel needs to freshen up

Pros: The friendliness of the staff and the location.
Cons: The carpets needs replacement. The beds are average.
Location: -
The carpeting of the hotel is old and creates a disappointing feel. My room did not have soap and when I called House Keeping and reception to request for soap the phones were never taken. It appears only Room Service picks up calls.

Good experience hotel + restaurant. Just a couple of remarks. Espresso machines to slow and too few at breakfast. Windows too narrow considering the sea view.

Worn out carpeting and slight carpet smell

Pros: The staff
Cons: Rooms. The towels need to be replaced as they are dry and hard on the skin. The carpets in the rooms on the 9th and 5th floors are worn out and smell.
Location: Great location for central Dakar activities
The staff and general atmosphere is good but the rooms are desperately in need of an upgrade. Its getting disappointing.

Nice hotel with east access to city

Pros: Relaxing poolside bar. Clean comfortable rooms. Pleasant. helpful staff.
Cons: A little more imported foods, especially meats.
Location: It is located a couple of blocks from Independence Square and a short walk to the Presidential Palace and even the Goree Ferry.
We were very pleased with the hotel. It was one of the nicest of our entire West African trip.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions. On the plus is the outside courtyard, with bar, lounge and pool facilities. However while the lobby and reception and courtyard areas have been refurbished, more contemporary (although a bit too busy with too many chairs), the rooms are not so great. Clean, but carpets are old and therefore looks dirty. Single sheets on beds instead of two, and very low bedding.

Nice hotel but the room had no air condition

I was transferred to 3 rooms in one night because the air condition was not working.besides that it was fantastic!!!! Personal were friendly and professional.
