Fun place to stay. Very relaxed, cool design, nice bar/lounge area and very helpful staff. Recommended.

Trendy location falls short on service and price

Posted Jun 22, 2017
Pros: Good location and landscaping. View of the Dallas skyline was great.
Cons: For the price point, it seems to me there's something missing, be it complementary valet, or better service in general.
Location: 10 minutes away from the Downtown Dallas area, plenty of things to do, and not far to go to do them. The view of the skyline is excellent.
To be fair, the hotel stay was OK. Not good, not bad, just very OK. The room we had was sparsely decorated, nothing really special about it or the view from the window (was facing the apartments across the street). The property itself feels like a piece of LA just outside of downtown Dallas. Very hilly, lots of plants that do well in an arid climate, landscaped nicely. The location in relation to thing to do was good as well. 10 minutes from everything fun to do in Dallas. I think my main complaint was the level of overall service and room quality matching the price point. The price point, being in the revitalized Oak Cliff area was typical of Dallas, but I felt the service level and room quality fell short of what we paid. The level of service from the staff felt very much like a "do it yourself" atmosphere, which to me, doesn't belong in a hotel. Rooms felt minimalist, housekeeping service was less than stellar (didn't make our beds). On top of not feeling like we got our money's worth, at checkout, we had to settle up our valet charges, which made us feel even stronger that the final price point was not worth the return.

Interesting hotel.

If you are expecting luxury this is not for you. It is an old hotel with some renovations but it is clean and comfortable. The attraction is the history and uniqueness.

A little LA, a little South of France

So much character, such a good mood place! I'd definitely stay here over a standard chain. LOVE this neighborhood. You feel like you're part of something staying at the Belmont.

Very Unique and Needs To Be Up-Dated

Posted May 18, 2017 on Hotels
Very funky and basically a crash pad rather than a unique place to stay. It could be the best non-traditional hotel in Dallas if there was a serious investment in the rooms. Right now, it's just old and outdated.

AMAZING charm at an unbeatable price

Posted May 18, 2017
Pros: The decor, the staff the entire ambience.
Location: Great coffee shops and eateries within a stone's throw.
This little gem makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time to the glamorous and chic days of old time Hollywood. I fell in love instantly and I will be back any time I am in the area. I will not stay anywhere else!

Everyone at the Belmont was awesome. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back!

Close to Downtown

I did not pay attention to the details that included an additional $15 Valet parking charge. There are no elevators but we were changed to a downstairs suite that was great except for the box frame around each bed. It is easy to bump into and bruise your legs.
