Likely First & Last

If you're used to nice & new hotels, don't stay here. Its clearly a very old property with wannabe upgrades. If you're ballin on a bugdet, this $56/night place is for you! I'd rather spend the extra $300-400 and stay in a more comfortable higher rated hotel..

Nice Hotel

Posted Apr 13, 2016
We stayed here because of its close proximity to AT&T Stadium and Six Flags. We were able to walk to both, but it takes about 45 min - 1 hour and you have to go over the freeway. There are a few restaurants close by and we had a car so we drove to a grocery store to buy some groceries. We loved the kitchenette and used it every day. The staff was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. It smelled a bit smoky when we arrived but after we opened the window the smell aired out quickly.

Pros: The only thing we liked was they allowed for early check in and close to the event we were attending.
Cons: Complete Staff overhaul off staff and or better training. They need to train staff away from guest coming in and not use guest as ways to train.
Location: Close to AT&T Stadium the Rangers Ballpark and Six Flags. Also close to a variety of restaurants and some department stores.
Started getting a bad taste right of the bat since we were being told we were not getting the room we booked for. We had booked a room with a sleeper sofa and did not get one. Plus we asked about getting changed to one of those rooms and they were not willing to help us with that. During our three night stay not once did they do housecleaning. We should not have to be telling them to do that it should be expected from a hotel of the nature. We saw them cleaning rooms but never cleaned ours. Were never told or explained during our arrival about the trolley or shuttle situation to the event we were attending, had to find our own transportation or make our own arrangements. Wifi in the room never worked properly. Overall just will not use this hotel again for future bookings.

Nasty smoking room

Posted Feb 23, 2016
I booked a nonsmoking room and when we arrived they put us in a smoking room. I told the front desk I booked nonsmoking and she was very hateful and uncaring from the beginning. She basically said there was nothing she could do because they were booked. She had a terrible attitude we almost walked out but our room was prepaid. Got to our room and the air conditioner didn't hardly work and the room smell was overwhelming. We had two sleepless nights. Won't ever return.

Vday/bday visit

The facility as a whole and rooms are always nice when we stay at Candlewood. The rooms can be cleaned up more throughly and the smoking rooms needs extra touch of fragrance, just because it is a smoking room doesnt mean it has to smell exactly like smoke.

Thank you for your response. We will work with housekeeping and maintenance on the smoking rooms, which do get deep cleaned frequently. Smoking rooms are a challenge to get the smell out, and we are sorry that your room was not up to par! We appreciate your feedback.

Wish we stayed here the whole trip

Posted Feb 2, 2016
We only stayed here one night. (we were passing through Dallas and needed a place to sleep). We had to check in really late. The night auditor (I wish I had checked her name) was one of the nicest people I've ever encountered at any hotel. She was informative and totally understanding of the late check in. Our room had everything you would need for a long stay (fridge, microwave, stove, sink, you name it). Clean and comfy. There's a convenient laundry room/gym/snack store on site. Coffee is complimentary. Totally recommend this place especially if you're going to be in town a while. We stayed 3 nights at another hotel and wish we had booked another candlewood instead.

Less stress is always good.

I loved having a full kitchen with dishes included. Also, the movies we were aloud to borrow from the front desk were pretty recent. This helped traveling with a five year old much easier. Especially since we were already stressed because of cheer competition.

Great Stay!!

Hotel was great for my short stay in the area. The kitchenette was convenient for preparing quick meals and saved me money from eating out every meal. Will definitely consider this hotel on any return visit.
