Has lots of potential

Posted Mar 28, 2017
Pros: The layout was beautiful. Reminded me of a Great Gatsby scene. : )
Cons: CLEANLINESS and upkeep!
Location: Plenty to do nearby. My family and I went to Medieval Times, Galleria Mall, and USA Bowl. Had a blast! Location provides quick access to major highway
The checking in and out process was quick and easy (via Expedia). The location and layout of the hotel was nice enough. Not too bad getting in and out of traffic. Immediate access to major highway. The bar area was very nice. The room itself was ok: a bit small for 2 beds, and hubby and I barely fit on the bed together. But it was ok for 2 nights. My biggest disappointments were the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel as a whole, and the fact that the indoor pool wasn't open. The hotel SERIOUSLY needed a deep cleaning and repairs. Elevators, foyers, and carpet were disgusting. There were dirty glasses on the 2nd floor piano area both days I was there! NO ONE bothered to clean up the place. The ceiling tiles were sagging and threatening to fall at any given moment. This hotel is beautiful and has a lot of potential to be great. However, its 4-5-star potential is drastically overshadowed by it's 1-star upkeep. : / Had I paid full price, I would have been highly upset and demanded a refund.

Extremely HOT!

Posted Mar 28, 2017
We had no A/C. When I called the front desk, he said maintenance would have to come up. I told him I had kids sleeping and we had an early flight. I could not sleep because it was so hot. I complained the next morning to the same guy and he told me that maintenance has to come in and swipe the air on. I told him that would have been nice to know the night before. Had I have known it would have been that simple, I would most definitely had them come up. I told him that I did not know why the A/C had not already been turned on since it was in 80s the day before. He said he could not refund any of my bill since I used Expedia. I emailed Expedia the night before since I could not sleep anyway. Expedia replied to my email saying it usually takes 48 hrs to respond. It's a week later and I have not heard anything.

Had to wait over an hour to get into our room

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Hotel seemed understaffed during our stay. The hallways outside our room were trashed and smelled our entire stay. We arrived 2 hours after check in began and still had to wait an additional hour to get in our room. I was charged $100 for booking through expedia upon arrival and was told when I check out they would refund me for the $100 and I have yet to get that back.

Hi Mandy, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you choosing to stay with us. I apologize on behalf of my entire team for the shortcomings you experienced while in our care. This is not the level of service we strive to provide. However, the $100 was only an authorization for incidentals and that is policy with all hotels and applies to all reservations and walk-ins. That authorization is released upon check-out and is up to your banking institution as to when they are released back in to your account for use. It could be anywhere from 3-14 days. If you have still not received your funds, please contact our Controller for assistance as maybe he can contact your bank. I hope this does not deter you from being our guest again. Sincerely, Julie W. Sales & Marketing

Seen it's better days

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: I recommend for location and price only
Cons: Remodel
This hotel used to be top notch. The years have taken it's toll and the place needs to be remodeled and updated. Other than the great location, there's not much else to appreciate. The floor I stayed on had a constant mildewy smell. Initially, the air conditioner did not blow cold air. When I asked for another room, they said they were completely full and refused to move me. I was told that the air conditioner was a quick fix and a maintenance man quickly fixed it. The lighted magnifying mirror did not work and the fixture arm was broken so it wouldn't stay in place. There were wipe marks on the mirror, the TV, the desk etc. Things just did not seem to be clean and the odor was a constant distraction.

Decent for the price

Posted Mar 19, 2017
The hotel was close to the freeway. They offered free wifi and a pool. They don't offer complimentary breakfast. Theat controls in the room didn't work very well. The bed linens weren't clean the first night, so i had to request new linens.

Nice hotel

Posted Mar 14, 2017
The staff were friendly even though my son kept calling the front desk with questions. Room service had to bring us change back and when they did they brought a bowl of fruit for our son. The beds were nice, and the pool was actually heated unlike other hotel claims.

Decent

Posted Mar 13, 2017
PROS: The room was nice and clean. Conveniently located near KDAL and not too far from downtown or The Galleria. I didn't spend a lot of time waiting on elevators when coming and going. Parking was easy and no extra fees involved. Staff was polite and helpful. Great view of downtown! CONS: I didn't seem to have any control of room temperature. This may have been operator error but I pushed all the buttons and only managed to turn the AC on and off. One day/night there was a child that screamed for several HOURS next door to me. Food at the restaurant was TERRIBLE. Overpriced and not tasty at all. It's dated but overheard an employee mention they plan to renovate. Skip the hotel's breakfast and check out Original Market Diner. Overall it was worth the money I paid.

Crowne Plaza DMC

Posted Mar 11, 2017
Pros: Close to Dallas Market Center
Cons: Beds- ours had a huge dip in the center of the bed. Pillows need to be replaced. Air conditioning/ heating needs much work!
The air conditioning/ heating is ridiculous. It can not be regulated. You have to have the staff send someone to your room to switch the air. It also blows directly on one bed! We also had the shower from the room above leaking down into our bathtub. The hotel is in dire need of updates!
