Slowest check-in ever

I felt ignored during check in. In case this happens to you, the front desk is right through the hotel entrance, not the conference entrance. There are several "desks" and several people in the area, although only one person checks you in apparently, and that person was occupied for a lengthy amount of time by another guest. Instead of being acknowledged, I had to ask a group of employees who were off to the side if I was in the right area. They mentioned I was, but continued their conversation. I almost wanted to sit down and nap after several more minutes of waiting, but instead I started pacing. When I was finally helped, it wasn't through being acknowledged by the main floor person. The process to get my key card took 5 minutes, but the waiting took about 25 min. It wasn't busy, and there were other people available. The person who helped me at the end of it was one of the employees talking on the side.
