Being an Austinite, you won't often find me waxing on about the beauty of Dallas - a little city pride at play, I suspect. But when I was wandering in downtown Dallas and came across this scene - brought to life by both the wonderful blue hour and the colorful fountains - I was able to make an exception and go ahead and take the shot...and feel proud of it! From http://nomadicpursuits.com/ Lovely! but weird to see when most of Texas had drought warnings everywhere. Ha. #waterlust Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Excellent for night photography! The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is a bridge in #Dallas, Texas which spans the Trinity River and was built as part of the Trinity River Project. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it is one of three such #bridges planned to be built over the Trinity; the second, the Margaret McDermott Bridge, is currently under construction. The span parallels the Continental Avenue Bridge, a walking bridge.
The bridge is named for Margaret Hunt Hill, an heiress and philanthropist.
#blue The Dallas Market Hall hosts the Intergem Jewel & Gem Show once every six months. This store had beautiful crystal jewellery which you could customize to make your own. Under the belly of the bridge... #StunningStructures Donut and Beer Pairing at LUCK in Dallas. Wonderful restaurant, really nice owners, great food, awesome beer selection. State of the art architecture of the Perot Museum, it beautifully integrates between the natural environment and the urban structure in its design. Scardello is a superb cheese shop. You can taste anything before you buy it, they have amazing sandwiches, and on Thursday nights they do tasting classes. Sit on the patio and taste the margaritas while you people watch. Bonus? Walking distance to DART if you enjoy the margaritas as much as I did. Frozen peach was my favorite. Strange to be in such a peaceful place surrounded by green and look up to see the skyscrapers. Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall at The Perot Museum is not to be missed! Although it's not as flashy and interactive as other exhibits, the specimens on display are just unbelievable! A docent told us that Lyda Hill herself often volunteers in the exhibit. She wasn't there when we visited but be sure to be on the lookout for her during your visit to ask her for some insider scoop on this mind boggling collection! The Grassy Knoll at Dealey Plaza. No visit to Dallas is complete without a stop at Dealey Plaza. So much history. Then there's the Sixth Floor Museum with its exemplary exhibition.
