Higher Expectations

We have stayed at Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express numerous times in Austin and San Antonio, never had a problem. I expected the same quality room as in other cities. We walked into a room with a dead roach right in front of bathroom, mold in bathroom ceiling and the headboard to the bed full of dust. I ran my finger on the headboard, I left a clean streak! Room smelled like it hadn't been used in at least a year. On the flip side, the staff was very friendly, when we requested a room change there was no questioning and we even received complimentary beeakfast. Second room had a bigger bed but smaller bathroom, but at least it was clean. Are all beds uncomfortable? It was like sleeping on a rock, I literally woke up in the middle of the night to take Advil since my body was hurting. It's a shame that the hotel is not in the best condition because the staff was super nice and friendly.

Pros: the friendly polite service

Location: very convenient to my destination at Kay Bailey convention center
The night shift front desk clerk who checked me in went far and beyond to make me feel welcomed. I hope all your staff is as welcoming as he is, My stay was very nice and I enjoyed my night stay, Thank You for your great service

Wonderful staff. Three beefs: 1) my shower curtain and shower ceiling needed cleaning 2) you had to pay 11 dollars for a typical hotel breakfast buffet. Maybe this is the norm for Dallas but I have never had to pay before. 3) The car next to ours was broken into so inadequate car lot security. But the beds were comfy and the rate was good.

Great stay

Pros: Upon arrival, the young woman checking me was so friendly and gave me suggestions on what to do in town.
Location: The DART station is nearby, though it seemed a little shady. I drove everywhere though.
I had the priviledge of staying here July 26 - 28. The hotel entrance was a little hard to find, but once found, it wasn't so bad. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated as were the rooms. I never had a problem finding parking space and I had two very restful nights.

Nice hotel close to downtown

This is the second time I've stayed here. It's always impressive. They have a free shuttle that will take you downtown, and check out is at noon. Those are both essential when partying. Bottom line is it's a great stay for a great price.

The hotel is high quality at extremely good price point. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable for extended stays. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable of the area and provided detailed directions.

Not close to restaurants

AC was not working correctly. Set on 60 but felt Like 75-80. They only had 2 carts and none were ever available.

Pros: proximity to in town job
Cons: full in depth cleaning of rooms annually
Location: right next to The Original Market Street Diner, great little place with awesome food.
Overall a good experience. the room was a litter dirty, or shall I say "less Clean" than normal.

HOT as Hell!

Cons: Service Desk help!
We arrived late in the evening, only to find our room had the a/c turned off. Could not sleep well as the "air" never cooled down the room, even after adjusting the thermostat several times. Brought this to the attention of the front desk and was informed that I should have contacted their maintained man after several hours of it not cooling. Well, that would have made it about 11pm if I had called. I doubt it was something that they would have addressed at that hour. As we were checking out, I was presented with a $36 bill for 3 slices of cheese cake. OMG! Are you serious?

Stayed three days and a very pleasant experience. Used complimentary shuttle to arena , ate in restaurant and very good not overpriced
