Nice hotel. Near to everywherePosted Sep 23, 2015
Nice hotel. The breakfast could be better. Nice staff. I like the view. The bathroom was not as clean as I would expected, but nothing serious.

The only thing I would like to see is a designated area maybe within the hotel grounds to walk a dog. Was not fun walking under the Bridge encountering a homeless person

Trains!Posted Sep 21, 2015
Our room was in the city side on the 6th floor. Extremely nice rooms!! They offer ear plugs. Well it's because the trains never stop going!!

Impromptu trip turned into a great time! We had no need to leave the hotel, everything was there!! Restaurants, bars, pool (table) and outdoor pool. Great staff!! Very conscientious!

Into trains? This is the spot for you.Posted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: The Pros: Our room was gorgeous. We were on the 18th floor with a view of downtown, the room was beautifully updated, food/bar was great.
Cons: The pool is smaller than most bathtubs I've seen. It would almost be better to not have one at all. Soundproofing on the train side of the hotel.
Location: Close to DART though I'm not sure it's a walk you'd want to make after dark, Grassy Knoll, JFK museum, etc. There is significant road construction.
I really did enjoy my stay at the hotel. It was a great location, everyone was incredibly helpful (except perhaps for the lady at the omelette station in the morning who is... abrupt...) and the breakfast buffet is entirely worth it. Seriously, go for the breakfast/internet package. The valets and bellmen were prompt and incredibly helpful, and didn't bat an eyelash that I was traveling with a cooler that nearly as big as my luggage. Then there was... the train. THE TRAIN. As I mentioned, we were on the 18th floor. We had to sleep with a sound machine on loud, earplugs, and sleep medication to make it through those trains. They do run all night, FYI as there was a freight train honking it's horn at 2am Saturday night. I can only imagine how many calls they get regarding the train, but I imagine if you ever check into a room and there are complimentary earplugs, consider it a true warning and ask to switch.

City ViewPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: Location - very good.
Cons: Better windows to drown out the noise of the trains!
Location: JKF 6th Floor Museum is a no more than a 10 min walk, and the AAC is 20 mins.
the hotel is nice and what you'd expect in terms of styling etc. We asked for, and got, a city view - that was probably the worst decision we made - the noise from the ever running trains really does disturb your sleep and there's not a lot you can do about it - even 12 stories up! Paying $26 for parking - I guess that's to be expected but still seemed steep. The roof top pool, we were among many guests that had a very different perception of what it would be like - it's pretty darn small for such a big hotel.

Wouldn't return for FreePosted Sep 21, 2015
Horrible experience. Pros: AC worked great. The one staff member we did come in contact with (front desk) was pleasant. Cons: Started with paying 19 a day for parking. The pool (outside) looked like something at a Motel 6. 4 ft deep and very small, maybe 20 ft long? The room had 2 available electrical sockets available. One on a nightstand, the other by the bathroom. Trying to make coffee on the nightstand or floor did not appeal to me. Later found 2 sockets hidden behind a wall length 300lb + "entertainment center" when trying to fetch a sock. The shower, that had less water pressure than my home water spicket would go from extremely hot to room temperature without notice. Turning it up to its max to get to a lukewarm would suffice until it once again became scalding. The sink held water. Would not drain unless you turned water off for a bit. In the time it took to brush my teeth, the sink would of overflow, twice. Last but certainly not least, I found nowhere in the description of the hotel the notation that you're close enough to train tracks to be woken often by screeching metal on metal. I paid twice here what nice hotels within a 2 mile radius go for simply because it appears to be nice and somehow they have an excellent rating. I much rather would of booked a Motel 6 and been prepared for the same experience and saved 140.00.

Hotel is by the train station. So if you request a city view you are stuck listening to the train run all day and night.
