Being an Austinite, you won't often find me waxing on about the beauty of Dallas - a little city pride at play, I suspect. But when I was wandering in downtown Dallas and came across this scene - brought to life by both the wonderful blue hour and the colorful fountains - I was able to make an exception and go ahead and take the shot...and feel proud of it! From http://nomadicpursuits.com/ Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Excellent for night photography! Mini Takes the States 2014 Road Rally Austin to Dallas Leg:
Reunion Tower is a 561 foot observation tower in Dallas and part of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The tower looks like a ball on a stick and referred to as a “golf ball,” a “dandelion,” a “microphone,” and the rather crass nickname, “Dallas Phallus”.
#cinematrove - In the movies it makes an appearance as a symbol of a futuristic society in the 1980 film The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is a bridge in #Dallas, Texas which spans the Trinity River and was built as part of the Trinity River Project. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it is one of three such #bridges planned to be built over the Trinity; the second, the Margaret McDermott Bridge, is currently under construction. The span parallels the Continental Avenue Bridge, a walking bridge.
The bridge is named for Margaret Hunt Hill, an heiress and philanthropist.

#localgem Day 17 - A stop in Dallas. The museum on the 6th floor of this building is worth visiting. It powerfully documents Kennedys rise as well as his assisanation. It's also the location where Oswald was believed to have pulled the trigger. Admission is about $16 per person. Thought this shot was a good contrast between the founding of Dallas and what it is today. Taken outside of Dick's restaurant. Here is the building that Lee Harvey was in when he shot JFK. Up there, 6th floor, corner window. The second floor of the Perot Museum that had exhibits on engineering , robotics, music, life and genetics etc!
#colorful State of the art architecture of the Perot Museum, it beautifully integrates between the natural environment and the urban structure in its design. Feed the giraffes at the Dallas Zoo! The Perot Museum has this awesome track where you can select who you want to race ( choice of runners, cheetah, tylosaurus, t-Rex etc. the kids simply LOVE it! It's simple and kids get the relative speed in comparison to themselves.
#localgem Sit on the patio and taste the margaritas while you people watch. Bonus? Walking distance to DART if you enjoy the margaritas as much as I did. Frozen peach was my favorite. A cold, snowy, icy, slushy, ugly day in Dallas. #Dallas Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall at The Perot Museum is not to be missed! Although it's not as flashy and interactive as other exhibits, the specimens on display are just unbelievable! A docent told us that Lyda Hill herself often volunteers in the exhibit. She wasn't there when we visited but be sure to be on the lookout for her during your visit to ask her for some insider scoop on this mind boggling collection! The Grassy Knoll at Dealey Plaza. 03.09.16, Dallas No visit to Dallas is complete without a stop at Dealey Plaza. So much history. Then there's the Sixth Floor Museum with its exemplary exhibition. You can walk right through a herd of longhorns and get up close to the ranchers on horseback at pioneer plaza. Definitely worth a visit! In top of Reunion Tower at Dallas, TX Downtown Dallas #buildings beautiful place The Perot Museum is one of the best attractions in downtown Dallas. I hear the view is beautiful. The best view in Dallas. House where lee Harvey Oswald rented a room in Dallas Dallas Stars! Museum that has a wonderful self guided audio tour about JFK and the events leading up to and following his assassination. The 6 th floor window on the right is the one that shots were fired from. The Kessler has that vintage/retro look and feel for your street photography. X marks the spot. Ultra tacky, this is allowed. Dallas skyline This is the window from which JFK was shot.
