Worst customer service ever!

Posted Oct 20, 2017
Cons: Adopt a focus on customer service versus blindly following a procedure. Also, you fix the elevator that's been out of service for the last two months
Magnolia's corporate policy is focused more on following procedures then providing high quality customer service. When requested to move a future reservation, the GM stated that the "system" wouldn't allow for this. This was after I indicated that any change fees and/or rate differences could be added to the bill. So great job Mr. GM in following procedure, but losing a frequent traveler and the associated income. I recommend spending a few dollars more and heading to the Parkland where they put a higher value on customer service versus sticking your head in the sand because the "system" says so.

Old outdated room, pics of room in web did not reflect true conditions of room. Bath was not clean.

Football Weekend

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: The staff was pleasant and professional.
Location: There were a few shops and eating places in walking distance.
It was a great football weekend. I had a ball with friends and family. We went to the Dallas vs. Green Bay game.

Great hotel and an awesome staff

Posted Oct 7, 2017
My friend and I made our first trip out to dallas and had a great time staying at magnolia. The location was so perfect for everything we wanted to do. Our longest drive was out to the cowboys game and that was all of 30 minutes. We were out there for a good time and the hotel staff was very friendly even when we were stumbling in looking for snacks at 2 am.there were only 2 negatives to our stay. 1... the bathrooms are very small but we still made it work with 2 girls and a lot of makeup. 2... the elevators are slower than molasses. As someone with a little fear of elevators it made me a bit uneasy and several times I ended up just taking the stairs. But I fully intend on coming back to dallas because the city is amazing and would absolutely stay here again!!

Disappointing stay at Magnolia

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: Generally a safe hotel in a good area accessible by taxi or car rental.
Cons: Rooms should be thoroughly checked before guests check in to make sure there are no cockroaches in the rooms. Also, please make sure toilets flushed!
Location: There is a mall and nice hotels nearby that you can take the hotel shuttle to try restaurants.
The Dallas 6 day visit was a bit of a 'Friday the 13th' experience. We thought we were confirmed at the downtown Magnolia but it turned out that somehow our booking was at the Expressway Magnolia which is 15 minute cab ride from the Kay Bailey downtown conference center. So, lesson #1, is double check which Dallas Magnolia you are bounced to during your Expedia booking. We checked in on Monday and we had 2 rooms. One of the rooms had a cockroach in it. This was immediately dealt with but left us with a strong unease for the rest of the visit. The other odd event was on the Friday when we were away all day, someone had entered the room and used the toilet without flushing. Not clear who and why. Otherwise, the rooms were generally well maintained by the cleaning staff. The front desk staff tried to compensate us for the cockroach with 5 days of breakfasts for one of the rooms but that was not really adequate. We will not be staying here again or recommending this hotel. We do not usually write these reviews but thought this message is important.

Poor experience since check in

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: It is clean
Cons: Put a refrigerator, safe, and be more accommodating. Be true to your word that you will give good service. I should have chosen a different hotel.
Location: It is located along the highway, multiple food places nearby
I am a +Gold Expedia member. I requested a queen bed and asked for a rollaway bed so I had an expedia agent speak to the hotel about obtaining one. The hotel told the agent and me that we would have the queen bed as well as a rollaway bed. At check-in, the front desk told me they were able to get the bed, we get to the room, and they have a chair beside the bed. Nothing remotely that resembles some sort of bed or mattress. It was a chair with a side table. The room does not have a safe, does not have a refrigerator, two items present in every hotel. I have stayed at many hotels, and this one demonstrated poor service and should not be a VIP+ hotel!!!

Do not stay here with pets!!

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: Drinks were good
Cons: needs new decor, needs to replace broken items, should reconsider their guests with pets policy
Location: near SMU and the Bush library .. both in walking distance
Apparently they only allow pets (and people with disabilities) on the first floor. I was lucky enough to have a room next to the house keeping staff room and it was crazy noisy the entire time. People screaming and laughing.. awful. Not to mention that my entire room looked like it had been trashed by an 80's rock band. I guess they assumed my dog would do damage and disturb the other guests.. meanwhile she never made a sound and I had an awful time.

Yappy dogs/ maid staff that didn't clean my room

Posted Oct 2, 2017
Pros: The hotel lobby/ bar area. Late night milk and cookies
Cons: The rooms could use an overhaul. The showers leaked everywhere.
Location: The location is away from downtown but by the university. I liked the location. Peggy Sue's BBQ is nearby.
The front desk and bar staff were really good. The maid staff didn't even bother to give us towels or clean the coffee area, really the only thing they did was take our used towels away and make the bed! The hotel is so loud (we were right by the elevators and lobby). But there must have been a yappy dog convention because nearly every room had a dog and a few of those dogs didn't stop barking all night. Also the showers poured all over the floor as the curtain was really small and there was only a slight step to get into the shower, be prepared to use all of your towels on the bathroom floor. Overall it was okay, I liked the location and the lobby area was nice and relaxing.
