"Hampton" in name, certainly NOT in service!

Stayed here several times. The past couple of times, issues, issues. I don't know if there's new front desk staff here, but this stay was the most unpleasant thus far. Front desk staff was less than helpful and seemed annoyed I requested assistance. Several phone calls to the front desk and NOBODY ever answered. ANY of the times I tried to contact them. I thought something happened. But after trekking down 3 flights of stairs (no elevator!) and to the front desk, my concern was unwarranted. There they were; white fm middle aged blond and younger, late 20's - early 30's, African-American fm . . .just choosing not to answer the phone! (I rang the front desk from my cell phone while standing there and had my friend (still in our room) ring it as well. IT RANG! This was not only unprofessional, but extremely rude. No excuse for this. If you don't like being in the hospitality industry, dealing with people/guests, find a new profession and allow someone your position who WANTS it. Ironically after this, my room key didn't work again during the duration of my stay.EVERY day I had to trek all the way down the stairs, from the last building and too the front desk for re-keying. No explanation, no apology, no sincerity, just a fake smile that spoke volumes. Too disappointed in the service this stay to ever return.
(Note: Housekeeping and breakfast staff was great! Should consider placing them at the front desk.)
