Great location but disappointing service

Lovely hotel and whilst 5* location and facilities service was not. Housekeeping knocked and asked to service the room at 9am whilst we were still in it. Breakfast was disappointing and plates not cleared and waitress pushed in front of me to plate up what I assume was room service. Not big issues but these and other similar examples just made us feel that customer service was not important.

traditional hotel in a great location

Pros: excellent location friendly staff
had a lovely two night stay in this wonderful hotel. room was excellent with complimentary mini bar buffet style breakfast was 15 euros / day , but worth it. location is perfect , just a 10 minute walk to dam square.

Superb Hotel, with great central location. The hotel staff are extremely welcoming & helpful. We stayed for 3 nights, the bed was very comfortable alongside the pillows, the room was very clean & decorated to a high standard. we will ensure a return visit to the Amrath within a couple of months. CAUTION!!! DO NOT use local shops in the direct vicinity of the hotel as they we will rip you off!!! we were charged £8.50 for 2 pkts of plain biscuits

Pros: The room was lovely and luxurious.
Location: Its within walking distance of everything!
A lovely one night stay with exceptional care, service and flexibility. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

One thing, room cleaning staff is terrible. But all others were excellent!

It was lovely , I’m only 19 , and I wanted to take my gf somewhere nice for her birthday , and it did just the job , beautiful accommodation in a great city , will definitely be going back ! 👌

Beautiful hotel in perfect location!!

Our stay at the Grand Amrath was beyond our expectations. The location was perfect with many restaurants and shops very close. The central station was also a short walk for access to transportation to take us further into the city center. We will definitely return!!

Pros: Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: From my experiences above what do you think ?
Location: We were happy with the location and Amsterdam has a lot to offer plenty of museums, art galleries and interesting trips.
We Had Issues Coffee machine did not work after 3 people looked at it still did not work. Room was not cleaned one day Uneaten food was left in corridor outside of one room all day. We booked a table for dinner and found that we we eating in the bar not a cheap meal either. Asked for the meal to be put on my bill was given a chit to sign, but was woken in the night by a waiter demanding that I paid with my credit card.
