Very conveniently located near Central StationPosted Aug 27, 2017
Pros: The friendly and obliging staff who all speak perfect English. Lots of tourist info available.
Cons: There should be a non slip rubber mat in the bath which is very slippy when taking a shower.
Location: Across the road from the hotel the boats depart for cruises on the canal. Around 5 mins walk away is the red light district with many bars & cafes.
The hotel is in an old city centre building and our room was a weird shape but spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and a good view over the canal and Central Station.

Great location but amenities poorPosted Jul 8, 2017
I loved the location but it was 100 degrees in Paris that week and my room's air conditioning didn't work.

horrible hotel and employeePosted Jun 7, 2017 on Hotels
Bathroom smelled like a dead rat. No curtains and thus bathroom floor always wet after shower. Room no airconditioner and very hot. Cannot open windows as outside noisy with people and cars. Rude recpetionist and unhelpful.

Just An Awful ExperiencePosted May 27, 2017
Pros: Its location is its only positive attribute...
Cons: The furniture (bed mattress and chair) is very (very) uncomfortable and quite dated...
Location: See above... Short walk from Amsterdam main train station...
Okay... I have been to Holland over 50 times (my father is Dutch). I've stayed in, probably, 25 different hotels in Amsterdam (over these last 25-30 years)... My one night stay at the Prins Hendrick was a terrible experience... I have only two positive things to say about the hotel... # 1 - Its location is very convenient... # 2 - Staying in the room was SO unpleasant that you felt motivated to get out of the room to see the sights of Amsterdam... As in, the furniture in my room was VERY dated. The chair sagged and was very uncomfortable. The bed's mattress (actually it's really almost a "cot" in size, very narrow) sagged almost as much as a hammock... But what was most disappointing was how I was treated by the (cleaning) staff... At about 10:50-ish AM I got a knock on my door - as I was about to head into the shower - with a young man announcing to me "check out is at 11:00"... I said "I know, I'll be leaving shortly..." He responded, "No Now" and put his foot against the door to keep the door to my room open... I was stunned (and, truthfully, pretty unhappy with his attitude)... I quickly showered and was out of the hotel by 11:10 AM... Does this sound like he kind of place where you want t stay?...
Charming older building with great staff.Posted May 25, 2017 on Hotels
Perfect location in an older building. The staff were outstanding, I asked for directions and they took me outside and walked me to the corner and pointed to where I shgould turn, etc. Food was great. You can sit outside and watch the world go by.

Great location in AmsterdamPosted May 24, 2017
Pros: Helpful staff and good breakfast. Excellent location!
Cons: Overall condition of room furnishings.
Location: All of Amsterdam is accessible by foot.
We stayed at the hotel the night before a cruise. The hotel was very convenient. It is walkable from the train station (10 minutes) and walkable to the cruise terminal (15 minutes). The location is also perfect for seeing the sites in Amsterdam. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very good. We had a quad room. The room was clean but there were tears in some of the bedspreads and the vinyl chairs had tears repaired with duck tape. The room was in need of a refresh. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who does not mind a 3 star hotel. I would definitely stay again on my next trip to Amsterdam.
