Typical Super 8

Posted Nov 30, 2016
Pros: Location and Shoneys Restaurant across the street.
Cons: After cleaning the room test amenities that they function.
Location: This location has me 160 miles from Chattanooga, TN. Now I can arrive there in day light.
Room key is now RF and did not function. Clerk re keyed the RF card and returned with me to open the room. Turned on the TV no reception. Telephoned desk and a tech arrived immediately. Put the TV onto Ch3 and reception restored. I knew of the problem but how to repair? Lastly no hot water. Same tech arrived shortly after checking hot water tank. How water was restored. Minor glitches solved immediately. Staff was courteous and helpful.

Would not stay here again.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Better building maintenance, better cleaning, better beds.
It was a poorly maintained, dirty, uncomfortable room and the building was the same.

Unsatisfactory hotel experience

Location: Pet friendly, restaurants across the street, not to far away from Gatlinburg,TN. and local lakes and rivers.
Check a little early that morning after being forced to evacuate for hurricane Matthew. The front desk representative was have a bad morning I take it, since she had that face of disgust. As I was given a card key fort the room door, I had to go back to the front desk twice, she still had that face of disgust. She finally unlocked the door with her magnetic key and just walked off. She said to ask the front desk in a few hours for assistance with the card key if I want. I first looked around the room and then the bathroom, hold and behold I saw a over grown sized Hersey kiss like object in the toilet, so I had flushed so my family did not see. No toilet paper, so I had went to the store to purchase toilet paper. Bed had two blankets under covers blankets with red stains, so we pulled them off, when appropriate we asked for new clean blankets, pillow cases, etc. But it was a place away from home and a safe haven for my family and puppy.

There was construction going on so hard to give a full review. The parts that were done were nice, the lobby was still a mess. The room clearly had been updated and was very nice. I hate these stupid half pillows that seem to be popping up at a lot hotels.

Don't stay here

Posted Sep 5, 2016
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: A lot -- see the comments above!!
Location: Location is fine, right off the interstate -- all of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are close by.
As soon as we entered the hotel there was an overall musty smell; not due to the remodeling of the front lobby. The room also smelled musty, the curtain rod fell off the wall when we closed the curtain, the hot and cold water lines were switched (almost burned myself when I thought I was going to get cold water), the sink was stained, water pressure in the shower was low, refrigerator made clunking noises at random times, the air conditioner ran very cold and one of the drawers on the dresser was broken. We would have checked out but we were locked into a "no return" reservation. We have actually stayed here in the past and it was much better -- we will not stay here again!

Not clean and heavy smoking odor in corridors.

Posted Aug 20, 2016
Pros: Not much!
Cons: Cleanliness, security, air conditioners, breakfast, and odors.
Location: Location was good as it was just off the interstate in a busy area with numerous other hotels and several dining choices.
The bathroom had urine stains on the toilet bowl rim and hair in the sink. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms, but the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. The air conditioner fan made so much noise that we had to turn it off. The breakfast offerings were very limited. The back door is supposed to be a locked door with room key access, but it was always open. Therefore, security was very poor.

When I first got there the lady told me my card was declined and I asked why and she said it was not charged right.I told her it was already charged to my account and she said that they had trouble all day with hotel.com for not putting the sales tax on right. Then on my last evening someone hit the wrong button and I was locked out of my room had to get a manager to come up and let us back into our room. The hallways are not air conditioned very hot The room was very nice .The curtains could of been better they had little holes in them on top. You could see the light coming through them at night and early morning. My room was kept very nice and clean was always done when I came back to the hotel. It is surrounded bye other hotels Holiday Inn Express, Hampton, Quality, Jefferson Inn. Very nice location for the things I was going to do .I had a very pleasant stay.

Stay only for the cheap price!

Wore down, in need of a serious upgrade. If you don't care then the price is great and you get what you pay for.
