One bad apple...

Posted Dec 2, 2017
The hotel itself was old yet well cared for and in a great location. My room was clean and well appointed for a three star hotel. It is pet friendly and offered a lovely full breakfast daily complete with waffles , eggs and fresh fruit. I was tin the Area for medical treatments for almost week and booked an extended three day stay on line due to medical complications causing weakness too extreme to drive home. When I went to the front desk to update my key I was told I had to change rooms. I showed the clerk my new reservation for the exact room type I was currently in yet she insisted I still had to change rooms for a new guest arrival. I explained how difficult that switch would be for me with my medical condition and that it made zero sense for me to have to change to a different king bed room but she would not show ANY consideration and insisted I had to switch rooms within the hour. In tears I cancelled my new reservation, gathered my things and loaded up my car service dog and all. I sincerely hope that cruel clerk never has to experience Chemo but I wish she had just a tiny bit more compassion for a strong woman in a fiierve battle having a rough week . I did manage to make the five hour drive home but it was unnecessarily tough on me. I have stayed at that hotel several times during my treatments and have always been a quiet, tidy, considerate customer so I was pretty shocked to be treated in such a rude manner. One bad apple can spoil the barrel.

It was a place to stay. I had little contact.

Pros: It was pretty non descriptive.
Cons: It was fine.
Location: It was near my reunion and Danville did not look anything like I remember when I lived there.
It was nice for a hotel. I don't have any complaints as the staff really didn't interact with me.

Great hotel

The hotel was close to everything we needed. The room was spacious and felt like a 5 star hotel. Would definitely recommend. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay for breakfast so can't comment on the food.

Excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating. Room was great, very comfortable, quiet (corner room, 2nd floor). Black Bear Diner next door is icing on the cake.
