Relaxing

Very centrally located to everything. I usually stay here while attending Mardi Gras. Rooms are also available that are suitable for families with kids. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Pros: Convenient to venue for my party on Monday night. Close to freeway so easy access to all locations
Cons: move smoking area from front of hotel. Didn't like enhaling second hand smoke
Came to Madri Gras in Mobile and the hotel was convenient and satisfied my needs. Found the breakfast was minimal and people smoking in front of reception door a turn off. Would definitely stay agin

Dated, but ok for a quick trip.

Three friends and I simply needed to find something fairly close to Mobile and reasonably priced for Mardi Gras, so the hotel fit that criteria. However, everything about the hotel and rooms is completely outdated. We also had trouble with the A/C. It’d work for a couple of minutes, then shut off so the room was warm. Luckily, we didn’t spend much time in the room. Beds were ok

Lousy air conditioning

Our room was very hot, even with the AC on full blast! There was a window that wouldn’t open with a torn screen. There is mold growing in the bathroom sink and the rusty tissue holder was empty. Can’t forget the fruit loops on the floor.... probably wouldn’t have noticed them except if you need a electrical outlet, be prepared to get on your knees and look under the bedside table.

Microtels are not all alike

Pros: The staff tried to be helpful.
Cons: The management could pay more attention to detail. The bathroom had patches where the paint was missing. The tile baseboard was chipped on the corner.
Location: We were there to visit Fairhope and Mobile.
The week before we had stayed at a great Microtel in another state. I expected this one to be up to that standard, but I was disappointed, mostly by the bed. Most all hotels have updated their beds to either pillowtop or foam. This was an old fashioned hard, thin mattress that they had topped with a piece of noisy plastic so the mattress wouldn't get stained, then a mattress cover. It was not a comfortable sleep. I repaired the curtain, which had been torn off the rod and was missing the wand used to close it. And I actually paid less for the previous hotel.

We apologize for the condition of your room. We have since replaced the curtain rod and detailed the room. Management is looking into new bedding at this time but we do not have the pillow top bedding. I'm sorry the staff just tried to be helpful but couldn't because all the bed's are the same. We just have pillow comforters like the one you used.

Great staff and conditions

Check in was really easy. A little misunderstanding and sent to the wrong room at first. But they where Johnny on the spot to fix that issue. My fiancé and I where very happy with the room conditions and cleanliness. The room is priced very well for what you get. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We talked about the next time we are going to that area we WILL be staying there again. The ladies in the house keeping staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable.

Often in town for business meetings, this hotel is very reasonably priced and conveintly located near I-10 on the eastern shore. I've stayed in the holiday inn express for years however this is a great new go-to spot to bunk. Not knowing how long I would be in town I booked it 3x times, 3 days in a row. All were located on the best floor, the top floor! Smoking is OKAY!!! Breakfast was up to par! (((((I normally take pictures... Im shocked I did not have any on my phone this time... I will take some upon my return in a couple of months!)))))

Nice hotel

Hotel, staff and room was excellent, their breakfast bar in the morning was a joke. So I advise anyone looking for a nice affordable place to stay this place is the one but remember to get up earlier to eat breakfast somewhere else

Ok for the price.

Upon arrival, staff was nice and check in was easy. Upon arrival, clerk was nice and check in was easy. Lobby was very inviting. Rooms, however were very dated but clean! Don't expect a hot shower. We were on the 2nd floor and it was very noisy! Compared to other hotels in the area, price was lower. Overall, it was ok for the amount we paid. But, next trip we will pay more and go to a nicer place.

Thank you for your review. However we have plenty of hot water. We are sorry that you had noise during your stay and we wish you would have called the front desk so that we could control your discomfort. We had many families with children for the holidays.
