This hotel has changed management. Check in took a little longer than expected at 10:30 pm. Breakfast okay.

Hotel was great. Fridays breakfast was not a plus. But was redeemed by Saturday morning's. As always the staff was amazing. Most friendly ever. Beds were very comfortable. And the atmosphere was quite and friendly.

Moldy rooms

Posted Jul 3, 2017 on Hotels
Room was damp and had musty odor . Carpets were damp . Every other aspect was average. The management team is good but that doesn't compensate for the room . Wouldn't stay there again

Great place to rest

Posted Jun 28, 2017 on Hotels
The place was being revamped so no the area was not pretty. We were looking for a safe comfortable and enjoyable location. They nailed it right on the mark. Staff awesome, room clean and DID NOT SMELL like a nasty room(Huge for me since I am an ex-smoker). They had eggs, biscuits, yogurt, fruit juices, Belgian waffle maker, ... for breakfast. Not the Hampton Inn. Not a rot hole either. Linen was on order of Hampton(that was shocking). Great for a nice sleep for the family. Highly recommended for non-snobby families

And thank you for your wonderful comments about our awesome staff and clean rooms. We love that you felt our bedding was on the level of a Hampton Inn. Thank you for your recommendation. Don't stay here!

Posted May 30, 2017 on Hotels
Room was hot! Air conditioner didn't work. The bed was full of flees or bed bugs. I itched all night!Couldn't even sleep with these terrible conditions! The hotel is under staffed. The parking lot is full of stray cats. The hotel is located in a deserted area. The pool was closed for no reason. Don't stay here!!! The maid didn't even clean our room or make our beds. Very gross place! Nobody should pay to stay here!

Thank you for your comments about your stay. We sincerely apologize for your poor experience. This is not the quality that we normally provide our guests. We are using your feedback in order to train our newest housekeeper better. We are glad that upon your expressing your issues to the front desk clerk that she was able to move you to another room after the problems you had in the first room. There are two cats that guests may see from time to time in the parking lot. The hotel is right near the I-95 exit. Darien is a quaint little town, and therefore it may seem deserted in that it's not a metro city. The pool is seasonal. We always recommend calling to check if it is open before reserving a room. Currently, our pool is open. We deeply regret that we were unable to provide you with a superior experience, but your comments are very much appreciated so that we can provide better service to our future and returning guests.

Great staff just not enough staff!

Posted Apr 4, 2017 on Hotels
The staff was generally very helpful and friendly. We arrived looking forward to some down time by the pool - we had long drives on Friday and Sunday - hoping for some relaxation in the pool on Saturday between meetings. Arrived to be told the pool wasn't open yet. The weather in the area is always warm by this time of the year. Breakfast was a challenge both mornings - again the staff was helpful and friendly just understaffed for a hotel with no vacancies - it is hard to man the front desk with people checking out and take care of making sure the breakfast items are prepared and stocked - biscuits and gravy were out or running out both mornings, bagels, bread and pancakes to warm were out multiple times during breakfast time again just seemed understaffed for a completely booked hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful just not enough staff on duty at peak times to adequately take care of customers.

Thank you so much for your response. Your comments are truly helpful as we want to be able to accommodate our guests in the best possible way. Breakfast can be a challenge, but we are always striving for improvements. We appreciate your patience during this transition from The Darien Inn. We expect to have more improvements to give our guests a great stay at a great value. We are sorry that the pool was not available for you during your stay. We would suggest calling ahead just to make sure that the pool has opened for the season. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.
