We had issues with cleanliness and our cleaning fee was refunded. The owner said there had been problems with her cleaning crew in the past. Also, we thought we could walk to the end of the street to access the beach, not so. We had to walk across the yard of the home across the street. The walk was longer. The sand was so hot we had to wear shoes on the way back. The owner was very attentive and responsive. First week with my sister and then her husband for last night. First week toilet handle broke, was repaired before we went to bed. We loved it. Hosts were amazing. Bit of a walk to beach over dunes, but who doesn’t need to get more steps each day. It was a laid back 3 weeks for me. This is our first stay on the island, and we loved it!!! The walk to the beach is a little more than a minute, but we also enjoyed the public beaches on the island. In the late afternoon or early morning, you can access them without paying the $10.00 fee. We especially loved the East End beach for the sunrise and birds, and the West End each for the sunset. Somewhere in the Sun is the perfect location to access everything on the island. It is very comfortable with cute décor. We really enjoyed hanging out at this great beach house. It was clean, had plenty of accommodations, the kitchen was well stocked, so nice that the owner has beach essentials (chairs, umbrellas, cart, toys,etc) for the renter to use. It was so nice to have dinner on the back porch after a day at the beach. The owner did a wonderful job of having plenty of seating outside for a big family to enjoy. We enjoyed the big yard and swing downstairs as well. The walk to the beach is a hard trek, especially with little ones but we made it work. The beach was beautiful and quiet, lots of space for us to enjoy, not crowded, it was perfect! We had a wonderful, short stay and will definitely be coming back again. House wasn’t cleaned well, but addressed by Host. Wifi didn’t work most of the week, but Host addressed it with Xfinity right away. Walk to the beach is less than desirable. Plenty of towels. Starter amounts of soaps & paper products. Comfortable furniture, minus the beds. Overall a nice property & satisfactory location. There was an issue with check-in but it was resolved within 30 minutes so it wasn't a big deal. The internet/ wifi was out for most of our trip but we weren't too concerned with it as we spent most of our time at the beach. We can't wait to come back to Dauphin Island and stay here again. The house is beautiful and is decorated with a beach theme throughout. The kitchen was well stocked, and we had access to beach chairs, umbrella, etc, which was nice. The house is in a great location and it was a short walk to the beautiful beach. Because of the rain/standing water, we did have to deal with a lot of mosquitoes on our walks to and from the beach. So I recommend bringing bug spray for sure. I loved the outdoor seating on the porch and under the house. Loved the extras available like the coolers, beach cart, and beach toys! The house was very clean and well appointed. It had everything we needed. The outside shower was extra nice after a long day at the beach! We spent most mornings on the porch in the lounge chairs while the kids played on the swing downstairs.
