Country Inn

Nice hotel. We liked the room and especially the location. This was our first time there and we would stay again.

Pros: the staff
I have nothing but praise for the staff at the hotel. everyone was nice, accommodating and very helpful.

Clean and comfortable

We stayed at 2, one in Blaine, MN and one in Davenport, IA. They were friendly at both, clean comfortable rooms. No complaints. The breakfast is good, they had water with lemon and coffee 24/7 and cookies as well. The first hotel we stayed at had bikes to use, free newspapers too. Both had fruit set out. The one in Blaine had 2 TV's that seemed always to be turned to the propaganda station Fox, so I kept changing the channel but assume that was customers, not management. The place in Davenport had the most wonderful woman working during breakfast - she was like a ray of sunshine, greeting people, asking if they had a restful sleep and assisting with waffle-making and any other questions people had. She was wonderful and seemed to really enjoy her job. Good Stay.

Close to swap meet

Pros: It was so so
Cons: The beds could be firmer. Hadn't had that problem at other country suites.
Location: The location is hard to get to from the south but easy from north.
When we checked in our room was not checked off the list as clean , so they had to go track down the cleaning person who wasn't carrying the walkie talkie. The bed was way too soft for my husband. Also, they were training a person who didn't tell us about the elevator or other things.

I booked my arrival by mistake for the 24th of Aug. It should've have the 25th. I had reservations for two nights and was able to stay two nights with Country Inn and Suites. I have stayed at numerous Country Inn and Suites in the past and have reservations to stay an another Country In and Suites in Sept. Upon asking the Hotel Manager on duty is there anyway to wave or credit the late no show charge because we are staying the intended two nights he told us to take it up with the booking agent. After contacting the booking agent Expedia contacted Country Inn and Suites and CI&S said sorry no can do. A great way to treat to a loyal past and future customer in a matter like this. I stay at CI&S because I choose to not because I have to. I enjoy my stays @ CI&S but really think a little empathy on Carlson's part would go a long way in saying we value you as a guest of ours and look forward to providing you with lodging in the future. We understand somewhat your policy on "no shows" however a review of case by case instance would be prudent in a situation like this. This was simple mistake and should be treated as such. CI&S saying we understand and are glad you are staying with us today and in the future would go along way in providing good customer service along with a great nights stay.

Not Clean

Cons: the rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned and carpet replaced.
I checked in got the room key and went to check the room. The was a very pungent odor in the room . i returned to the front desk and i asked for a non smoking room to which she replied the entire hotel was non smoking. to which i replied i want to cancel this room.

Hotel night staff was fantastic and very helpful. Nice breakfast in the morning. Comforable beds and nice and comfortable for 4 people.

Great place to stay not far off I 80

All was clean, efficient and the breakfast was among the best of eggs and waffles and various offerings in such hotels. Loved the eggs that we more than just powder and water.
