Davis vacation home in Timberline, walk to Dolly Sods Wilderness Area
COVID SAFE HOUSE - Beginning January 13, 2020 until we are personally satisfied that the Covid Virus is under control we will be renting our property for three or four days, weekends ONLY! We will not allow other guests in the house three or four days prior to your arrival and have reduced the occupancy from eight to six people. Although there are no guarantees we think this will help you feel safer about choosing our property for your vacation. "Our home away from home" is located on a very private 2.5 acre wooded mountainside lot in the secure gated community of Old Timberline. Hound's Tooth is meticulously maintained by the owners and private housekeeping staff. We do not allow same day turnarounds to assure that early check-in is always available and that the home is in perfect condition upon your arrival. Hound's Tooth has been renovated inside and out and is always being updated by the owners. Look forward to finding a well stocked, modern kitchen with a Jenn-Air stove top grill, new living room furniture and fireplace enclosure, large master suite bedroom with a two person Jacuzzi Tub in the master bath. Well maintained appliances, stereo with Bose speakers, Dish Network satellite, WIFI, plenty of seasoned firewood from the owners farm awaits your indoor enjoyment. Outside, relax in the brand new six person Jacuzzi Hot Tub and a gas grill on the spacious deck in a secluded wooded setting. All linens are provided. No pets and No Smoking. If you smoke, smoke outside and clean up your butts, thank you. Occupancy strictly enforced. Owner will contact you prior to your arrival. **This Home Does Not Have Air Conditioning**

Comfort on a peaceful mountain side
Enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen as dining out options are limited. We are hikers and the hot tub at the end of long day of hiking was deeply appreciated. The house is well maintained and very clean. WiFi was funky a few times but we were able stream Netflix 95% of the time. The location is on a mountain side which creates unique weather conditions with foggy mornings and lovely breezes in the afternoon. At the top of the mountain on Valley View Drive is a spectacular view of Canaan Valley. There is a trail access that is easy to climb to a Valley View Trail above the trees so you get to see the valley and sunset above the trees. And this trail connects to Rocky Ridge Trail in Dolly Sods that traverses the valley offering unique ecosystems and connects to other trails taking you deeper into Dolly Sods. 10 minute drive to Canaan Valley State Park. 20 min drive to Davis and Blackwater Falls State Park. We loved our stay here and again.
